Calling all smokers

My Dad gave up smoking, at age 84-ish - and lived to be 88. When he was in the army, during the war (WW11), cigs were issued free to servicemen (so he once told me).

When I was a little girl, heaven was when he got home and lit up a Woodbine, me dozing off with thumb in mouth, teddy bear's ear scrunched up against my nose, the delicious scents of Mum's cooking and Daddy's smoke :-4

No thanks. It took me long enough to find a taker for my "kit" when I last decided I was going to save money and cut back on the number of cigs I smoked

They were issued free, I'm sure. My dad said the same. He forgot about smoking when the Alzheimer's took over, but I would light us both one occasionally, probably a sort of comfort thing for me.
Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answers...Rainer Maria Rilke
