As a worshipper of the O Great One, One can not admit defeat just yet my little pit viper.

In the true Labour way, one must wait for current events to take their course before one comments, other wise it would be to pre-empt that one is talking shyte.

There-fore, one shall wait a further 48 hours to see what the great one does and if the Great one does not make an announcement and one can not find anything via google, then one shall admit that one is wrong my little horned stag-beetle. :p:p:p:p

The point that you're not seeing is that the Bank of England is not a commercial bank - it does not lend to the public therefore there is no point in the Government putting pressure on it in the way it has put pressure on the big five.

As gmc said, the Bank of England is independent of the Government with the decisions being made by the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) - they control, amongst other things, the base lending rate which is what the Government wants that "banks" to follow.

Yes, i am aware Bryn. Unfortunately, in my attempt to needle the one Tory votor, el guapo on this thread, i made a rash post. As you can see, he is now holding me accountable. There will be no announcement from Gordon, i am aware, but i just wanted to make el guapo wait another 48 hours before admiting that to him :sneaky: One, because i am female and our specie's always keep men waiting as long as possible, it's what we do best, and two, i just wanted to annoy him.

A childish folly i know but we have to get our entertainment from some-where and el guapo is such a perfect target.

We know you read he daily mail. Own up you are a closet Tory:sneaky:

You can't needle the tories, anyone that can admit to being one is too thick skinned to care what anybody thinks. On the other hand finding labour party members is like looking for hen's teeth nowadays. allegedly they've all burn their membership cards in an attempt to keep warm not being able to pay their gas bills.
