Currently thinking of ways to entertain ourselves until the rest arrive :sneaky:

Anyone else be there on the Friday?
If I go, yes I'll no doubt travel up on the friday.

If you Guys want a nice meal The Tower Hotel which is opposite The Tower of London has a fab Carvery but one with a difference.....it has other food in it also. The starters are to die for and you help yourself to how much you want and how many times you want and the same goes for the main course with lots of choices other than a roast meal and the sweets are sooooo yummy and also you help yourself to and go back as many times as you want:D.I was there a few weeks ago and will be there on my Birthday this month and guess what......one of the starters was Jellied Eels:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfldont worry though they had the choice of loads of starters....it was about £22 or about that for the meal......excellent value and if you get seats by the window you over look the Thames;)....just make sure its the Carvery Restaurant you go to there and not the other one.....other than that theres a MacDonalds up the Road:yh_rotfl;)

When i did GMTV, they put me up in Park lane and that was heaven. :-4Lots of new Developements for sure but also where The Tower Hotel is there are still the old cobbled Streets and alot of the old properties tarted up and dont forget about The Prospect of Whitby which is also there;)
This is one of the most famous pubs in London. It dates from 1543, built as a simple tavern. In the seventeenth century it had a reputation as a meeting place for smugglers and villains, and became known as 'Devil's Tavern'. A fire gutted the Devil's Tavern in the eighteenth century. It was rebuilt and renamed the Prospect of Whitby, after a ship that was moored nearby.
One notorious customer was Judge Jeffreys, the 'Hanging Judge', known for his harshness and in particular for his dealings with the ringleaders of the Monmouth Rebellion (1685) in their failed to overthrow Catholic King James II. The Glorious Revolution saw James II flee to France. Lord Chief Justice Jeffreys tried to follow but was caught, it is claimed, whilst hiding in a coal cellar at the tavern dressed as a coal-heaver. He was taken to the Tower where he became ill and died. A hangman's noose swings over the river, a reminder of those gruesome times.
The main bar has a flagstone floor, the long bar counter is built on barrels and has a rare pewter top. There's a wealth of timber beams and the upright pillars appear to be sections of a ship's mast. Most customers prefer the riverside bars. There's a small balcony where you can sit above the river and listen to the rhythmic lapping of the water. Just inside is a comfortable seating area with open fire, and a further bar has a servery and a raised (no-smoking) dining area. Outside is a pleasant terrace with tables. Venture up the creaking stairs and find the restaurant, this is divided into several delightful panelled rooms, again enjoying river views. Another rooftop terrace, with iron garden furniture, overlooks the river too.
Old photographs show what the Prospect and its surroundings used to be like, ramshackle and seedy, but crowded with vessels from around the world. Nowadays the occasional cruiser or barge passes by the warehouses, which have been converted into exclusive apartments and the Prospect now caters for the new residents, as well as the tourists.
I have been to Do's at The Hilton in Park Lane and yep its the Business alright:D:-4
