I say it just like it is:

I am 19, no wait¦ 26 (or 29)...

I’ve got a 6 pack and am so hot that I burn, I am single, no kids, and just inherited $6 million from a late uncle I didn’t know I had. :sneaky:

I worked with a guy who was on a dating site and he got interested in this woman, he set up a coffee date with her 3 times, each time she was a no show. On the 4th time he walked into this coffee place to see a man there that he recognized from the other 3 times and realized it was a dude leading him on all along... OMG he was furious but I laughed long and hard at his story hehehehe

still it is a shame people pull this kind of BS on others.

I read on another forum ( as a guest) of a girl who posted pics of herself and did blogs and arranged to meet folk. Turns out she stole a girls identity off myspace and facebook to use as her own. She got found out when the girl was tipped off and she visited that forum. Wish id kept the link so I could show you all.

Just because people post about themselves, jobs, history and photos, doesnt mean it is them..

I have spoken to a few members off forums now and sometimes Carol off here calls me out of the blue so she can vouch im a female:D

Hmm. Seems difficult to prove conclusively that any of us are who we say we are. I met some fellow FG-ers at the Meet in London (eventually!:wah:) but, well, I could have sent a friend who reported back (maybe had a tape-recorder or summat so I could get all the conversational details) and be, in fact, the three foot warty gnome I have in the past suggested I was!

I don't know anything about the fake FG-er you are referring to, but it does seem that sooner or later you WILL get caught.

carol, gill me and kaz met on another site. a supposedly reputable site too, ages ago and everything was fine for a long time.

suddenly we were surrounded by bullys with mulitple id's, name calling, threats, pm's verging on hard porn from men whose wives were no doubt sitting watching tv in the same room at the time.

ive always taken people at face value and it never occured to me there would be folk around that just set out to upset people.

just goes to show how dumb i am dosnt it ??

ive never been anything but honest with the people ive made friends with on here. whats the point in being any other way ?? i mean what happens if some of us ever did manage to meet up..................

like they say, you've got to have a damn good memory to be a good liar.............

I checked out several forums before finding this one. They are mostly strange and worse. It seems as though the world is at each other's throats. People seem to get off on upstaging each other, ripping each other apart, and all the time hiding behind their avatars. I cannot begin to explain the psychology behind this.

I am who I am. I answer questions as openly as I can. If I think a question about myself is inappropriate for the forum or for me, I just don't divulge the info, or may send a PM. To me, lying is one of the worst things a person can do, it totally breaks trust.

I agree with this. In fact, I can't lie. Apart from anything else, lying requires a good memory which is something I don't have. But it simply goes against the spirit and the Law of Karma. Especially if it is used against a person.

I am who I am like it or lump it.

I can't/won't change to suit others ideas of who I am or should be.

I am proud of who I am so why would I want to be different;);)

[QUOTE=Amber Sun;1145520]Why would anyone lie here in FG about their weight, age, or marital status ? I could see it happening if someone was looking for a dating room or a 'heavy breathing' experience, (although I don't know how a person would manage that over the internet). As far a 'changing sexes perhaps he/she is really a he/she but with so much homophobia maybe they don't want to say what they are? I have just kind of accepted what everyone in this room has said as truth because I can't see a logical reason for anyone to lie. Like I stated if this was a sexually oriented room, then perhaps, but all I've seen here is people having fun when it does kind of get suggestive.

/QUOTE]

some do lie about age, marital status etc, some things are a secret to some, and don`t want to discuss it.

-but some just lie for the sake of getting attention.

-some think its just fun to lie, they think they are just showing that they are better than others.

- some say they are a man when they are really a woman.
