OK, OK already :wah:
I uninstalled adblock and closed Firefox then used the package manager to reinstall rather then using the add-on manager within FireFox to upgrade and it's now working again

Hey RJ, when did you become AHSO?
Exactly what does AHSO mean?

Spot had suggested in an earlier post to someone else to just have FF for FG. Thats a reasonable alternative.
Unfortunately the forum has to get the bills paid somehow and I'm sure that if the administrators can change it they will. Sorry its an inconvenience, but compromise is the spice of life.

Hi RJ,
Well, I still can't embed youtubes to FG, my laptop still turns itself off when I play some youtubes or videos, broke the door to my dvd player, and I keep getting a message that 'my battery is plugged in but not charging.' My original battery is 2 yrs. old and this message started showing up. So I placed a new battery into the computer and the same message is still showing up. Now my new battery is down to 26% available......probably a problem with the charger...dunno...It's only 2 yrs. old.
My techie guy who I trust has been out of the country for a few months and won't be home for a bit more.....I trusted him to come to my home and fix both of my computers.
I just hate to give up my laptop:-4 for service, and don't want a stranger coming to my home.
But, alas, I really need to find a good outside service, but I'm not happy with the ones I've found so far. I'm looking....still hoping for my guy to come home.

Hey you Mr. Barman,
Don't you dare leave again....or else...or else....something will happen:-3
Thanks Betty.....I really need to let go of my laptop and give the power for some techie to fix it.....

I fought against buying a laptop for years and years. But now that I have one...I take it everywhere....outside when I'm sunning, in the kitchen when I'm cooking, on holidays, on the front porch when I'm chatting with neighbors, to school for teaching experiences....in bed to say good night to FG'ers before sleeping....yada...yada....
OK....I'm addicted to FG:wah::D

The video problem is odd. Does it shutdown even when plugged into an outlet? Sounds like when the video begins, it may be drawing more hardware resources than the computer has to give.
Did you purchase an extended warranty with the laptop?

Oh, thank you so much for whoever turned the clicksor off. It was actually driving me to distraction because everytime my mouse would hover over it...the advert would load, and then I'd have to click it off.
It was like an extremely bad commercial on the radio that you couldn't turn off fast enough:(

Yes, I did. I replaced the new battery and it lost power and is now down to a low number. Then I inserted the old battery again and let it charge to no avail.
Yes, the video problem is odd. I've had this problem for quite a few months and didn't really have it fixed as I hate to give up my laptop. I did find a local tech guy who fixed some issues. When I asked him to fix my problem with embedding a youtube to FG he asked me for my password. I told him that I'd like to key in my password as i don't give out my personal info.
He thought that was sooooo funny that I wouldn't give out that info as he wouldn't stalk me in my chatroom:-3
:wah: It was at that point I high-tailed it out of there.
btw......I saw his car passing my home during the last 3 days.....That's why I don't want some of these guys coming to my home to fix things:(
I'm going to wait for my trusted tech guy to come home....
Edited notes.....as I went off on a tangent and forgot to answer some questions....ha, ha...
Yes, it would shut off even if I have my laptop plugged into an electrical outlet. In fact, when I'm in my home, I always leave it charging when I'm using it. The only time it's not charging is when I'm outside and don't have access to an electrical outlet.

In Cornwall it's bird for women, although you have to be careful how you say it and to whom you say it.
For men it's ****, which I think may be sensored out, first four letters of cockerel

With no add-ons, I can see the clicksor colours and hyperlinks.
After installing Adblock Plus, I can't. They're suppressed by default.
So, as RJ said, Adblock Plus gets rid of it. So does NoScript. Either will do. Of the two I reckon Adblock Plus is the more essential, it can permanently suppress any image on the internet if you decide you can't stand ever seeing it again. I use it a lot.
Does adblock work similar to Noscript? I don't like the fact Noscript automatically suppresses every java script.
I'd much prefer to have the option to suppress each website specifically as opposed to having to disable Noscript's functions upon every instance so that I may view the java scripts.
Or am I being too neurotic about "allow scripts globally (dangerous)"?
