I think you should make an effort. A discussion with the fist of reasoned debate would do you the world of good.

I see David Trimble has lost his seat and his party all but gone. What do you reckon to Ian Paisley? Orange marching season here seems like the heid bangers are either gaining strength or are in the last throes can't make up my mind which.

Incidentally david813 ever read Freidrish Engels "Condition of The Working Class in England"? As a good socialist I'm sure you have. Have a reread of what he says about the Irish, good honest racism and bigotry.Oh gmc, I love all the marching bands. The Doc (Rev Ian) said thing morning, ''Lord Carson had a cat, it sat on the fender. And every time he saw a rat, he shouted 'No Surrender''.

I'm sorry if my political persuasion isn't to your liking. I have no reason or desire to aggravate you. I feel the same fire when I think of capitalism, imperialism, Israeli apartheid and racism. I'm really not a bad lad.Ask your Noraid friends to help

The troubled history of the island of Ireland, the republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Ireland and its relationship with Britain / Great Britain, Ulster, `the Troubles` etc etc needs a dissertation about the combined length of all the volumes of the Encyclopaedia Brittanica , to explain and even begin to understand.

It`s only natural that different people on `different sides of the fence` will hold different opinions, but please, let`s not have such bald statements as "I am pro-Real IRA". Do you mean you support the killing of innocent civilians? So what is the difference (other than one of scale, because USA is larger than Ulster) between 4000 innocent people getting killed on 11/9/01 ("9/11" in American notation) in a terrorist attack, and 29 getting killed in Omagh by the real IRA? Surely random acts of terrorism are simply NOT a solution?

I've back-packed alone through both Northern Ireland - around Limavady, mostly - and the South, notably from Tara toward the west, and a more beautiful land or more rational well-adjusted folk I've never encountered. It was a privilege to have been there and met those that I met. We English have damaged society there for centuries, and to the extent that I can speak for anyone, I apologise for it.

Most of the revolutionaries of Irish history were (believe it or not) Englishmen.
