The bedrock of Israel is it's been constituted since 1948 is discrimination on the basis of a person having a Jewish identity. Eventually that's going to have to end, it's an affront to all civilized values. Invoking the Holocaust as an excuse demeans the Holocaust and insults the millions who were murdered in it.

Actually, I see Israel as humanity's attempt to redress the evil done to the Jews. As to the "Palestinians" there is no true "Palestinian." That's just a made up name for a bunch of nomadic tribes that circulated through that area suddenly got hold of a cause. They no more deserve the land than a bunch of squatters on a vacant lot.

let's be realistic here: Israel is a modern, technologically sophisticated, entrenched, civilized nation. It's not ever going to "just go away" or "be destroyed" any more than we are. Let's move on and work on how to civilize the barbaric terrorist factions like Hamas and Hezbollah.

And that's the last I have to say about that. Now back to our originally scheduled thread....

They're such reactionaries. They immediately jumped to self serving conclusions before any facts came out and now they got egg on their face. I guess what I find most appalling about your outrage regarding "them" and "they" is the fact that this is about a searing hot high velocity piece of lethal metal striking a 9 year old girl in the chest and exploding her vital organs on impact leaving her lifeless little body slumped over in a pool of her own blood. Im upset that the NRA spreads their butter all over our elected officials and none of them wants to discuss re-instating the ban on assault weapons.

Im outraged that Christina Taylor Green was born on Sept. 11, 2001 and buried on Jan. 13, 2011.

Jared Loughner is a sick disturbed man who saw blue trees, heard voices and by all accounts was on a downward spiral for many years. He committed this crime and no one else. For reasons we may never know he chose to shot a defenseless beautiful 9 year old girl in the chest point blank. Then chose to kill six other defenseless people, and wound 14 more defenseless others including a congresswomen, because he wanted to.

He plotted and planned this in his disturbed mind for a very long time. Look at the man eyes he is gone and is enjoying every bit of this. Blame who you want, yes there is some to go around if nothing else there were many opportunities to get him evaluated if that was possible, I'm sure he wouldn't go if it was offered to him. Not everyone get help, not everyone will take help. Is he disturbed of course insane not so sure.

Sometimes people are just to far gone and awful things happen.

I agree, sometime bad people just happen. My point is that in this case, other people gave him a focus, a target for his insanity.
