My post that prompted this history lesson was a 'throw away' line......much like your 'I blame Snooze'

I don't need or want to know the history of the Austro-Hungarian Empire......it was simply a joke.

I think we should give the thread back to the aww-sayers. Looking at Snooze's opening post I still don't believe that was her own reaction to the photos, I think she opened the thread as a provocative act to bring people into opposing camps. Maybe the aww-sayers need a bit of space to balance things up.

Anthropomorphism of grizzly bears is what got Timothy Treadwell killed. And it all started with a teddy bear just like that. Stuffed toys kill. Betty's got a lot of nerve trying to push killer toys on the rest of this forum.
