All this time I've spoken your name (in my head) with a hard G. I remember the first time I heard Galbally say his name and it all kind of jumbled together like "gobbly" instead of "Gall Ball ee".

So Lars are you saying there's something wrong with southern English? LOL I've always said you can have a southern accent and still use proper grammar. We all don't sound like the "poor relations" :)

There are words common to The South, that Yankees don't know about.

Example.

Fixing. I am fixing dinner. Or I am fixing to go to town.

My wife always gives me grief over such words, but they are proper English in The South.

Those poor relations take a fairly relaxed view of the language, though, and it can show.

Gill it was the camera on your computer and the message system, I didn't have a camera at the time so I had to write my responses but I could hear and see you. I have a completely different computer now so I not sure how to do it either! LOL :)

I always catch hell for saying "growed" and "throwed".

When she wanted some juice she squoze a lemon

I had a great aunt that said the same thing. Makes perfect sense, really. The past tense of squeeze.

It's all too easy to hit edit post rather than reply with quote - no problem.
