Dodina 8th

The trainer has gone to Glorious Goodwood today and found the going firm. It appears Goodwood missed out on the torrential rain In the South East and It means the track Is too fast and will be firm or good to firm tomorrow. To avoid Injury, he has decided to declare Piceno a non runner tomorrow morning.

Penalty Scorer has been DECLARED to run at Musselburgh on Friday 1st In

the five furlong nursery & Duilio De Silva has been booked to ride.

Have to say, the management are giving us plenty of activity In our 10 horses. Sadly, Scotland Is just too far for me to claim my owners badge and have a day out at Musselburgh Friday.

Nelson's Bay has been removed from the 8 group due to his antics and us not getting value for money. He joins the exclusive club of the likes of Mad Moose and Battle Group... those pesky upstarts who act up on the course. It may not have been long before his behaviour was called Into question by the BHA... me... I like a rogue,

All the horses have different trainers and yards around the country R.. It means If a trainer Is not doing so well, we don't suffer because our chances are spread out.

Pelmanism will probably remain at the trainers yard. He's out of hospital today and out In the field. There's also the possibility that one of us shareholders will take him... I'll let you know... but for now, he remains with the trainer In the North of England.

That's how my brother aquired his horses... had shares In them until career was over then he took them for retirement or just for riding out.

Accidents, accidents, accdents.

What with Ted's Brother and Pelmanism banging their heads exiting the stalls, Piceno today at Chester stumbled badly exiting the stalls. Great recovery but couldn't regain the momentum In time... ran In a game 11th but not last.

It's also emerged that Dodina Injured herself In her race last week..

Still, all are In good hands.

The management are now arranging a Christmas get together that will co-Incide with stable visits and days at the races for us all .... can't wait !!!

So this morning, Piceno set out on the long trip from the north of England to my home town on the South Coast to run the 3.50 at Brighton.

The result

1st Mime Dance 5/1

2nd Piceno 14/1

3rd Scottish Glen 8/1

Us owners narrowly missed a share of £14,000 prize money by just half a length.

No fear... share of 2nd place prize money again :guitarist:guitarist:guitarist

The experts verdict on Piceno

" broke well, led, ridden 2f out, headed entering final furlong, kept on, held close home"

So very close, You nearly got there boy .

See you at Ascot on Saturday boy :-4

My Boy strutting his stuff

eta... just to add... again, harsh handicapper gave him top weight... he performed today under a massive 10 stone.... Roll on Ascot !!

Having got so excited about Keiren Fallon riding Piceno we've withdrawn him from the race due to unsuitable ground conditions and won't risk jarr Injury...

Update on my 8

DODINA: She is still on box rest with her knee fracture. – BRIAN

BLUE MAISEY:She is well and goes to Newcastle at the end of the month.

Edwin

SALLY FRIDAY: Still on the walker and on her road back from an operation

on her fetlock. – Edwin

VODKA RED: Out in the field recovering. – BOB

TED’S BROTHER- He’s run today at Yarmouth. RICHARD

PENALTY SCORER- She's declared to run at Newcastle on Friday.I’m

hoping for a nice run from her. RICHARD

PICENO – The ground at Newmarket has dried out so he won’t run. He

will be declared for Ripon on Saturday now as they've had lots of rain.

SCOTT

BURNHOPE: He has some abscess in both his feet which are currently being

treated. The pads worked during his last race and hopefully they can

work again. He looks well in himself. – SCOTT

Very good !!!

Yep, the trials and tribulations of Investing In thoroughbred, highly strung animals easily prey to Injury. That's why Investing Is such a risky buisness which no-one should ever go Into for money only....

Having said that... Thanks to our warriors of Penalty Scorer, Ted's Brother and Piceno, I am far from out of pocket yet and we have a while to go with the Flat season yet.... Hope It continue's.

All change... possibly.

Piceno has made the trip down to Newmarket this morning after they received heavy rain during the night. His trainer believes the ground conditions may be suitable after all and he may just run after all this afternoon.

Ted's Brother ran a s.hitter last night... wasn't Interested. Just seemed to hate the track, hate the ground and hated the pace.... 8th

Very bad news...

Piceno was racing In the 3.15 at Newmarket after all.

Yet after exiting the stall, lost a shoe, trod on a nail, was pulled up Immediately by Fallon and he limped back with a bloodied hoof.

He's now on his way to the horse-pital.... waiting for an update on what's happening.

Bummer :-5

ride and claims the 5lb

She Is good order , looks a winnable race

I would be looking at a small win bet.

Piceno Is home from the Vet's feeling very sorry for himself but I'm assured he's getting lots of love at home.

Some words from the boss

Dear *****

2 AT Newcastle AND 1 at Hamilton All three are there

to do their best

Penalty Scorer - ,

game little filly who takes her racing well , plan is to miss the break

again and bring her through, Joe Fanning is a good jockey booking , but

this is a competitive little nursery , the Fav looks good and Mr Bell

don't go to Scotland for Nowt , but like I say we go there to do our

best

At around 20/1 , may be worth a very small ew - your call

Ted's Brother -

This faithful warrior is in my opinion is still a tad high in weights

for me , but he tries n tries all day long , Dulio takes a valuable 5lbs

off

and he knows him well enough , if the ground softens up who know that

20/1 could be big , hope he runs well for you all

he is well in himself and goes there doing his best

Blue Maisey -

This little lady make her reappearance since April , Edwin's got her as

fit as possible at home , but we all know it what happens on the track

that matters , Paul Mullrennan take the ride , whatever happens she will

come on for the run , you will have lots of days out with Maisey over

the coming months.

25/1 , I may have a pound ew - your call

Those of you going tomorrow , remember the most important thing is ...

ENJOY !!

Penalty Scorer 6 th

Sky Sport verdict

tracked leaders, ridden over 1f out, kept on same pace final furlong, no impression

Ted's Brother beaten In photograph finish, officially by ' a nose'.... 20/1 Share of 2nd place prize money :guitarist:guitarist So nearly there again.. you warrior, absolute warrior under top weight.

Sky Sport verdict

slowly into stride, held up in rear, headway over 2f out, chased leader over 1f out, led inside final furlong, soon hung right, headed post

Slightly hampered at start.... that would have been the difference.... oh well

Blue Maisey 11th

Oh well, her first time out In a long time following Injury. Still, no doubt she had a lovely day out In the lorry and a lark about with some other horses.

Hi Oscar!

Back to catch up on the races and your horses! Reads like some have taken on some tuff times...sorry to hear. I liked FourParts horse-pital! That is cute!

One question from an American...."may be worth a very small ew " I can guess at what an 'ew' is but would rather know it from you.

Ted's Brother seems to be your strongest in the stables?

I wish you the very best of fine racing! And may your investment be profitable. :)

Thanks R

Yes, Ted's Brother Is the strongest of the 8 without a doubt but It's never that easy.

Penalty Scorer and Piceno are also strong but It's down to the damn handicapper who sits every week, reviews last performance and then adjusts the weights accordingly for their next race...

The management can only enter them In races within the weights and handicaps... It's extremely complicated and not a job I could do.

For example, If Penalty Scorer has been awarded 65 by the handicapper, then they can not enter her for a race of handicap between 70 and 90, likewise they can not enter her for a race with a handicap between 40 and 60. It means they can only enter her for a race with a handicap between 40 and 65 and that means she'll race carrying top weight over others with a handicap of say, 55... she'd carry 10 lb more than the rest of the runners.

It's done to stop better horses taking all the prize money In races against the no hopers.

So, It's difficult for the boys to get the right race... then we hope those carrying less weight, performance wise, are not on par with our horse.

Problem Is, every time they come 2nd or 3rd, the Handicapper gets harsher with the weights. However, a piss poor proformance means the chance the handicapper will knock the horse back to a more lighter mark. So the best time to lay money on the horse Is actually following a bad performance because the handicapper would have lowered the mark that week and the weights will be less. But, having said that, so Is every other entrant...

Ted's Brother Is the one of my 8 who just seems to excel under top weight. His win was also under a heavy weight. The others don't seem to do as well.

He came so close Yesterday, losing by ' a nose'... had he not have been hampered leaving the stall, It could have been different.... but his blistering run and 2nd yeaterday under top weight means the handicapper will be harsh again this week when he's reviewed.

You can up him to a higher handicap bracket race but then run the risk he's punching above his worth... It's a minefield that I leave to the management to judge.... rather them than me.

As I said, the best time to lay money Is after a bad performance when the mark has been lowered. He was 2nd yeaterday at 20/1 which gave me a return of 5/1.... Kerrching !!!!

Words from the boss

Ted’s Brother goes to Hamilton tomorrow in the 6.20 race over 9 furlongs

Philip Prince takes a valuable 3lbs off, he doesn’t appear drawn to well

but I cannot see that being an issue, he does come off the pace, we know

he is well after last week’s gutsy run, 9furlongs hmm may stretch him,

he goes there fit and well and doing his best, some nice prize money on

offer.

Chances – he is so well in himself, I think a couple of quid EW @ 9/1

Good luck to those going.

GOLD SHOW- It’s still steady away with her she is doing easy canters

And her work will be stepped up in couple of weeks. - Edwin

FAZZA- He has come out the race yesterday in good order. The ground was

Too quick for him and he got a little too far back but he stayed on well

At the finish. - Edwin

BLUE MAISEY- It has taken her a few days to recover after her race at

Newcastle, she was a bit off her food which is unlike her but she seemed

In better form today and I am hoping by the weekend that she is fully

Recovered so I can look for races for her again. - Edwin

SALLY FRIDAY-She’s is doing easy work on her road back to full

Recovery. -EDWIN

VODKA RED- Out in the field recovering. – BOB

TED’S BROTHER- He’s declared to run at Hamilton tomorrow. He’s in

Really good form but it’s a bit of an experiment to see how he goes

Over the distance. He’s entered at Beverly on Saturday also. RICHARD

PENALTY SCORER- She's fine at home and has an entry for Leicester next

Monday. RICHARD

PICENO – He has had a repercussion of his foot injury so won’t be

Running on Saturday. We are treating it and I don’t expect he will be

Long before he’s running again. SCOTT

BURNHOPE: He did a nice piece off work yesterday and he’s ready to

Run. I will look for a race for him now. SCOTT

LITTLEMISSPARTON- She is getting fitter and stronger with each gallop.

I’m happy with her progress. OLLIE

She's a new addition added by the management to compensate that we have had a few out of action due to Injury.

She a baby, just 2 years old and unraced. Anything Is possible !!!

Blue Maisey heads to Redcar tomorrow in the 17.40 race

She will be ridden by Connor Beasley, this will be her second start

after quite a lengthy lay off, but she will strip fitter this time ,

Edwin says she is well at home, but you cannot beat race fitness, for

this reason I am being cautious.

Positives - good jockey , Ground is fine and we know she likes the

course

Not so positive (don't like the word negative) - maybe a lack of race

fitness

For me at around 12-14/1 she may offer a bit of EW value

Good Luck to those who are going

Regards

Nah... don't have the feeling about this one Oscar. I think she will fold in the first third.
