Chonsi, am i misguided to think that the dreaded rent increase notice should be mailed out separate from a Christmas gift?

It's pretty tacky-to give a Christmas gift with a rent increase.
Give him a stocking full of coal, tell him he provides cheap heat............................

Christmas Shoppers and why they are a plague...
Ala Mr. Smith... they produce nothing and swarm around consuming everything in sight, reproducing every year and expanding in number with no effort to maintain a balance within their own eco-system. Have you seen Macy's on christmas eve???
I applaud all the online shoppers who don't contribute to the Deck the Halls N'Sync mixathon and who don't support companies that make their employees work till midnight on Humbug Eve.
Not that Humbug Eve should be celebrated with friends or family or anything. It's just the principle.
-Humbug I say Bah!

You can't escape Christmas unless you hibernate for a few weeks, but you can make a difference to people less fortunate...

Have a Lucky Christmas.
Christmas is a wonderful time for everyone. Especially the superstitious.
Don’t take the decorations down till twelfth night. We all know that, but do we know that if you have holly and ivy the two must be separated and the holly burnt. If you don’t do this a death will occur in the house in the next year, or the year after that, or¦¦¦That is unless you live in South West Montgomeryshire, in which case neither of the evergreens must be burnt on any account. So we know we must be careful in disposing of the holly and the ivy. A small point but one easily overlooked is that it must not be brought into the house before Christmas Eve. If you do someone in the house will¦etc¦.etc¦
Good job old Scrooge wasn’t born on Christmas Day. People born on that day can never see a ghost. I’d call that pretty lucky actually.
Do not stir the Yule Log on Christmas Eve. We may translate this into do not alter the thermostat or turn down the gas fire, even if you are sweating cob nuts.
The lucky stirring of the Christmas pudding cannot be done in a casual way, bad luck will ensue if it not done properly. The bottom of the basin must be seen during the stirring. This is another good reason for buying a Mrs Peek’s.
Don’t worry about any of these superstitions. The dire effects of breaking them can be warded off by carrying in your pocket a few simple items. A piece of coal, the ankle bone of a sheep (which must never be allowed to touch the ground) a cork, a piece of amber, ditto coral, a hairy caterpillar in a bag, and a black beetle in a separate bag, that’ll do for now. We don’t want you to look silly.

And then there's the ancient Roman festival of Saturnalia - which is like one long office Christmas party.
Saturnalia just happens to be an anagram of Australian.
Personally, I'm a Twelfth Night fan. Topsy turvy time, where for a short time the Master becomes the servant and the scullery maid becomes Queen.
