That's what I told him. Everybody loves you and his one reply was "Johnny hates me". Well, yeah, he is your big brother, but he does love you. Uggh.

I wish my stitches would stop itching. I wish the bloody taste would get the heck out of my mouth. I wish my dad would get off his lazy @$$ and help my mom, brother and I clean the house.

Most of all, I wish some of my friends from LJ would learn to type correctly, and in English at that. :-5

okay i've got enough whining and complaining to fill a book!

so here goes!

first off, i think everything i own is gonna break down this year! first it was the air conditioning, during a heat wave, then i had to get a new dishwasher, then a new modem for the computer, then my washing machine died! i go to the store to get a new one and they didn't have what i wanted in stock, they were supposed to be there in a couple of days, but they didn't show up, they now won't be there until Thursday! in the meantime i'm lugging laundry back and forth to my mom's house next door! then the lawn mower died, thankfully that was able to be fixed but you can see the trend here!

and now it's getting to the point where it looks like we may be in danger of the frost getting the tobacco before we can get it all saved!

add to that the fact that my mom scared the life out of me! i was in the field and she was keeping the baby, i look up and there she is, standing at the other end of the field waving frantically saying come on, come on! and she has no baby with her! i panic of course and start running fast as i can, the whole time yelling at her, wheres the baby? she won't answer me and just keeps saying come on!

well by the time i got there i was just about to have a heart attack as it turns out, he was asleep! i was crying and upset and i probably said more to my mom than i needed to, but i asked her why couldn't she have taken a second to tell me that the baby was alright!

as it happened it was my aunt who lives on the farm with us, she had fallen trying to get out of the truck, face first in the gravel, i had to take her to the doctor, she got 11 stitches and has a broken nose!

okay thats it, sorry for venting, but i'm in a bad mood and i needed to get all of that out!

My mom always did the "wait til your father gets home" thing...then it was belt time. He had one belt that was reserved just for our spankings...that was never fun. :(

Spankings were the least of my worries with my strict parents

My Mother had a backhand

My Father would pick me up by my feet & swat my ass as I hung upside down.

Of course I'd pee my pants so the spanking would feel better.

Sometimes I was lucky and could pick a spanking device

Hand - belt - switch/branch from a tree

didn't matter - I'd pee..

children should be seen - not heard - their attitude

I was a giggler in the family - sat next to my Dad at Dinner time - OMG, can't tell you how many times I hit that window sill in the kitchen from his hand to face hit...

Unfortunately - my parents had favorites out of us 6 kids

I wasn't one of them

I guess that's what mad me a very strong individual ??

cause now - I really don't take any **** from any one.

Ah yes, the discipline of the previous generations. I'm all for discipline, but not for abuse. What some of our parents did "back then" would get children taken away in today's world. I admit, I've swatted my own kids (all too old for it now) on the rear before, but sometimes nothing else worked. Fortunatley I was my dads favorite, but not my moms. I was the middle and had brothers that my mom very much favored. I guess it can make us stronger Patsy, cuz I don't take **** from people either.

Back again. I'm censoring a good portion of my post because this **** pisses me off.

I absolutely ******* HATE how stuff about my half-brother (he died in infancy, 15 years before I was born) has been shoved under the God-forsaken rug. My dad told me when I was 5 that I had a half-brother, that he's dead. He didn't even tell me his full name, just his nickname. I've walked around for (nearly) 17 ******* years knowing nothing else about the kid.

Almost 17 years after being told I had a half-brother, my mom finally told my dad that he needed to tell me about my half-brother, and lo and behold, the man actually told me. And now I'm more pissed off than ever, because my dad's ex-wife refuses to give my dad permission to put a grave marker on my half-brother's grave, like the ***** wants to forget her son even ******* existed.

I'm also upset (depressed upset) because I can't find any birth or death records about my half-brother. It's like the state wants to erase his existence too. It's not right. It's not okay. None of it's okay. I'm freaking pissed. It's to the point I hate my dad's ex-wife, and if I ever see her, I want to beat the crap out of her for being such a heartless......there isn't a word strong enough for what I think of her.

Mama, my dad's mother, threatened to wash my mouth out with soap if I started "getting sassy" with her. Occasionally she threatened to go out to the apple tree in the backyard and get a switch and "tan my hide" if my language got too...strong.

She never did it. Just threatening was enough to shut me up. Papa (her husband, my dad's father) and my dad were the ones who spanked me, but never for foul language.

Sorry you're going thru this rapture. I'm not going to pretend to understand, I've never been in your shoes. I (thank God) have never lost a child, but others that I know have. Sometimes it's so painful for them that they put it aside and push it into the farthest regions of their brains, thinking it will make it go away.

I do have a couple of questions for you tho. Why does your dad need his ex's permission to put on a marker? Could he have been born in a different state? Could they have used a different last name such as your dad's ex's maiden name?

One thing I can recommend for you is to go look under the bereaved threads. I bet there may be someone that has dealt with this sort of thing before and can maybe help you with some direction. I can hear your anger, resentment and frustration...but I can also hear your sadness.

Dad needs his ex's permission because they own the grave plot jointly. That's the sole reason he needs to talk to his ex to get permission to put a marker on the grave. As for my half-brother having his mother's maiden name or being born in another state, none of that's an issue; he had my dad's surname, and he was born here in Franklin County, Ohio. About all we can do is go to the Department of Vital Statistics to find out where my brother is in the cemetery.

Hey hey hey

step back & look at the full picture here..

your parents have had plenty of time to place a marker & chose not to.

That's their decision.

perhaps they could've explained this situation alittle better to you?

This isn't anything to HATE anyone over. and you'll never get answer's to your question with this attitude.

Until you have your own children/responsibilities will you understand what I'm trying to say & where they(Parents) stand. and a death of a child can break up relationships. Your 17 alright , not 38 or ??

It was a unfortunate birth - no one had a chance to know, bond with or nuture.

Do you not think of how they feel ? How can you HATE a woman, who carried a gift and ?

Oh, your half brother has a marker alright - it's on their heart...!!!

you've taken the wrong avenue - this isn't about you

If you'd like to take a adult approach to this issue - I'll talk to ya, I'll tell the route to obtain documents etc.

you have no right to HATE any one who's had to go thru this trauma

RAP MUSIC

do you want the info or not?

Your post hit a nerve with me. - so sorry

your Father can have a marker place - whether joint venture or not.

do you really think a cemetary will refuse money $$$ ? get real

wanting to know where you half brother is buried - go to the Cemetary's office

everything is on a spread sheet - everything has a marker - when purchased for buriel than a name is indicated & marked. they have recorded area's.

you don't vital stats to find out where in the cemetary the buriel is..

go to the cemetary office.

Vital stats are for the documents - birth - death certicates.

Be prepared to pay @ $500.00 for a small marker plack to $5000.00 which could be another reason there's no marker on the grave site..

anyone can purchase a marker for the family for the deceased etc..

cemetary's won't refuse money kid..

buy a marker & surpise your Father - since your so fired up

tell the office it's a surprise to your parents since they couldn't afford it - bring your VISA... you have a Visa right - Master card ? MONEY ?

then you'll have a place to sit & look & sit & look & sit & look

and you'll still be pissed off - you don't know why - but you'll still be pissed off

like you were robbed of a brother - BS DUDE

you **** me off - just go to the cemetary, they'll give you a diagram where exactly the plot is

can't be that difficult to figure out - cemetary's usually put all infants in a designated area @ angel..

Good Luck

I lost a son who only lived four hours. I didnt go to the funeral nor did i want to know when it was. it took me over ten years to finally find his plot and put a marker on. im still not over it, you never do get over it.

My dad would slap you right across the face. I don't do that to my kids, but I do give them a swat on the arm and the butt.

I am sure i will start some CRAP here. But i worked in daycare for 25 years. Let me tell you. the kids who got a swat now and then. were a lot less problems then the ones who got put in time out. or got a good talking to. (HA)

I agree with you on this. And you will hear the naysayer's here. Timeout works to a certain degree but you have to back it up with a chat. If you do it again, then you're realy in trouble and you will get a swat. That's the way we do it in our house. Actually, it depends on the situation.

All I do is "if you're gonna run your mouth at me, then go upstairs, give me your cell phone and shush it". Usually get an apology after about 1/2 hour.:wah:

Works with my 16yr old too! I just say "do you want to lose your cell phone?" and she shuts the trap instantly. :wah::wah:

Thru the stinkin roof! She's working hard on trying to have her grades up to qualify for the good student discount, but right now she's in honors chemistry and next semester will be in college algebra. I can complain, but she really is a good kid. :-4
