My two menfolk are playing snooker tonight. They are on the committee of a small local snooker club and it is so good that they are doing something together that they find most enjoyable. It is good to see. Actually father and son do quite a lot of things together - they go walking, sometimes go fishing and of course the snooker a couple of times a week. They are more like two brothers not Father and son :-4

Trouble is I have now got to find some way of burning it all and not annoy all the neighbours ! I think we'll have to do a big burn after dark, and hope nobody calls the fire brigade !! :yh_rotfl Oh and I still haven't finished sorting it all out yet ! You see we had to keep all the business paperwork for 7 years - Inland Revenue said so ! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Not much, except I'm knackered from getting the house ready for the central heating people. We seem to have been grafting 24/7 for ever !!
When you have a house that has no attic or basement for storage and you have loads of stuff from our business (which by law we have to keep for 7 years after we stop trading). Also heaps of stuff from two sets of parents who are no longer with us. These things have to be stored all over the house! We have worn a pathway to the public tip, and I'm sure the guy there is wondering when we are going to move in with him, as we seem to be more often there than at home !! It is sad, though, but we have to be totally ruthless - we have so much stuff, and we are moving fairly soon as well !
But the immediate problem is the central heating - the guys have got to have easy access to all the radiators and pipes etc. I think we've just about got there, at last ! The up side of all this sorting out and sifting through boxes of paper work is that we have found some long lost photos and other things !
So today, we are having a break from it. There's only a little bit more to do, then the workmen can come in when they like !!!! :guitarist
So how is everything with you Joan ? OK I hope :-6

I was just checking through my 'bookmarks' and I saw my birthday thread from December 2008. Reading down all the posts on there, it made me feel really sad that some of those lovely posts were by people who have now totally changed towards me for whatever reason (best known to themselves). I just can't understand why some people go like that - it isn't how I am with others, so I am confused that some others would be like that with me! Ah well, such is life ! It would not do for us all to be the same would it? :-6

Yesterday it poured, all day, with torrential rain (I'm glad I live on a hill ! :sneaky:)
The roads were like rivers, and my hubby said he had to pull over to the side of the road for about 10 minutes, because the rain was coming down so heavily that the windscreen wipers could not keep a clear view for him - even on the very fast wipe!
However, in the evening at about 8 pm, the rain stopped! There was an amazing sky, and we took photos from our sitting room window and our back garden, and I show a couple below. They do not really show the terrific effect that was created by the clouds reflecting the sun and the way the light affected the fields.

Nice pictures good looking!
My wife is always running outdoors after the storm clears and the sun comes back out, looking for the rainbow. Of course, she forgets her camera and runs back in to get it. By that time, the rainbow is damn near gone. :wah: One day she'll get lucky and get that picture.

Hi Mussy !!
I find it very easy these days. I have a digital camera, which is very small and handy, and of course fool proof! I have it with me nearly everywhere I go, and I'm taking all sorts of pics, because I know that all I have to do is upload them from the camera to the PC, then I can decide which to keep and which to delete. Then I clear the pics from my camera and I always have at least 30 spaces available for new pics ! It's brilliant! Gone are the days of film rolls and developing and printing and having to pay all the time! That reminds me, I have a camcorder as well, so I could take some 'moving' pics LOL, and see if I can put those on here sometime. Trouble is, I understand, moving film takes a lot more memory so I shall have to check up on that sort of thing.

Odie, you should treat yourself to a 'hover' mower Mrs. much better for backs !! Also it is possible to mow when the grass is still a bit wet ! No point in doing your back in !!!
We're supposed to be going to my second brother's 40th wedding anniversary buffet this afternoon, but it's been so wet with all the rain that Chris's little car won't start because of all the damp and we will have to try to dry it out ! Our other car, the white Volvo T5 is off the road for the next few days, needing replacement parts which are on order - it had better be bloody sorted by mid-week cos we need that car to take us on holiday on Friday !!!! grrrrrrrrrrrr
It never rains but it pours !!!! LOL You gotta laff else you'd cry !

Well we made it to my second brother's 40th anniversary, and despite all the chuffin' rain, it was a most pleasant afternoon/evening ! Met up with my eldest brother and his wife and we had a very entertaining time ! It was a buffet, so we could all mingle and chat to everybody. A lot of the people there were folks we didn't know, as they were work friends and neighbours of my second brother and his wife, but we still enjoyed chatting to them and having a laugh! It chucked it down with rain most of the time we were there, and we had a rather ferocious thunder storm, but fortunately the rain cleared away by the time we left the 'do' so we got back home without incident !
This was the actual vehicle that transported three adults to the 'do' ! A little different from the big Volvo T5 you see in my avatar!! :wah:

I love French Marigolds, they just keep on flowering all summer and are such a lovely splash of colour! However, the flamin' slugs and snails love 'em too! :-5 My hubby goes on slug/snail watch each evening and systematically sends the snails on BA flights into gardens of houses that are at least 50 metres away from ours, and the slugs get squashed and end up as manure on our own flower beds !
I have noticed very little snail/slug activity now for some days !
Sorry about the fuzzy pic - I omitted to put my 'anti-shake' mode on
