I think it depends on how quickly you go through your butter. If it only lasts a few days i.e. less than 7 then leave it out. But if your butter last longer believe me you do not want to try rancid butter, I know, refrigerate it.

One memory of my Dad was his often referral to mom being purtier than a sweet cream cow. He had seen one early in his life at a county fair. I guess it was a real compliment.

Most cafes and the military too have a bowl of cold water and have pattys of butter floating in it. Makes it about right. Not too soft or hard. the water keeps the pattys from melting together.

I just had grits with butter & cheese and washed it down with milk. Is that redundant?

When we first got married my wife was going to make whipped cream and it turned into butter except it had sugar in it. Weird.

Thanks Far!!! Nice to know when you're missed! It's getting competitive around here for the computer...the 9 yr old discovered a game site he is addicted to and the hubby is constantly surfing sports info and music sites...(he plays keyboards in a band/plays locally).

As for this butter thread..............even having been the one to start it, I now do stay away thinking it will die, however when i check in, it's always just tumbling along nicely! So here i am. ugh

So NO ONE knows what LURPAK means? By the way, the butter does taste a bit better and it is softer.
