how's your Sunday?

I just cleaned out my fish tank, vacuumed the drapes, they have cat fur everywhere and the bedspread, and the steps, I love my Bissell hand-held vacuum for fur.

I think that if I used a hand held Bissell vac on clearing up my dog's rampant tumbleweeds, I think it wouldn't last more than 2 minutes before it blew up !!!:yh_rotfl

Hi Helen!

Is he part setter?

I love these dogs, very warm and loving.

If you have a picture of Wallace, can you post it for me?

Did his name come from a t.v show, Wallace and something, it just sounds so familiar?

I'm going through a bit of a bad time with various stuff at home, at the moment, so I won't be posting very much.

Some special friends I made on here seem to have gone and I miss them very much. Others go on other sites like Facebook, and I won't go on there.

Sorry I'm feeling a bit miserable right now. I dare say I'll pick up again soon.

I just wish people wouldn't take stuff so personally and assume that somebody else is 'getting at them'. Chucking in the odd 'flaming' sentence, and trying to 'get a rise' out of somebody else, for whatever reason.

I wish you'd all be more friendly FFS.

I just can't be doing with all this taking swipes at each other. When you stop and think about it, it is so childish - playground stuff! It is too upsetting at the moment, for me.

Ducky, please don't use this thread for taking a swipe at Odie, or anybody else. I would love you to come on this thread and post something nice, though.

they did it to me last year too but a freind of mine "rescued " me at 4-30pm on xmas eve so it turned out all right,

they dont even have the decency to look shame faced when they take the £500 off me for their presents either !!

actually ment to put this on my journal gill but i saw you mention FB and it just brought that little moment of venom to the surface lol

Sounds like the benevolence is a bit one-sided to me ! :-5 I shall say no more !

£500 for flamin presents FFS ! I'm afraid I'd tell em to buy stuff within their means!!!!!!!!!!! But then that's me, I suppose I would do the same if truth be known, but not that much ! Hey, looks like you're buyin your own pressy :-2

hi gill, betty and odie,:-4

i cannot fathom for the life of me why theyve done this, we havnt argued, not one cross word !!! if we had, i could understand it.

the grandchildren, apart from the 8yr old and the 2yr old all have access to mobile phones and computors.............. four of them i havnt seen for OVER TWO YEARS !!!

ive been in my new place for 8months and my eldest daughter has been here just once.

if you remember from my posts on FOCERS, i used to send hours in her garden, every summer, helping her to sort stuff out but not this year !!

its like i dont exsist any more....................... i just cant understand it.

the £500 is for all of them, adults as well...............

what brought this on tonite was that i bought a huge piece of pork, in morrisons for £5 that i was going to take over for boxing day. it will take me a month to eat it on my own  i would never have bought it otherwise !!!

Kids can be very strange. Crikey, if they sat themselves down and imagined their mum would never be around any more, would they regret all the times when they never bothered to see you or invite you over to their places! I think they would, but it would be too late then !

I always tried to see my mum and dad as often as I could, and my sister always laid on a slap-up Christmas dinner - we all contributed something by way of food though. It wasn't so bad for my sister - she lived in the same village as my mum and dad, but my two brothers and families were also there to join in the fun. It was just a tad crowded, but that didn't matter - it was great to see everybody at a joyful time, rather than at funerals !

My son says he dreads the day when his mum and dad are no longer around. He says we are his best friends, and he always shows his love for us. It doesn't take money to give mum a hug each day, or dad for that matter! I think I am very blessed having a son like that.

Yes, some kids are very strange ! :(

some family's can be so unpredictable.....give them time, not that you should have to as the are adults.

Maybe your daughters lifestyle has changed. I only see my son now twice a year as he is only an hours drive away, I know he works, and he is a waiter at my DIL's restaurant on Saturdays......but you can make time if you want to as he has tons of times to see his friends.

So I feel the same as you Helen, as I have only seen my son once in the 7 months after my husband walked out.....and my son knows the hurt, pain and despair I have been going though as we do twice a month talk on the phone.

just last week he said, mom I am really sorry I haven't been down and I know your by yourself. I said, Sean, sometime sorry? is just not good enough.

and..Helen its not good enough..if our family's want to see us, they can make time.

so this year I have cut right back on spending at Christmas for them both.

I will no longer put up with excuses......plus yes, I had no choice to cut down living on my own....plus after Christmas? who knows when I will see them again.

It called tough love.....and I needed to do that and other things, as I have no time nor patience for ones who say they care.....but don't show it.

i dont know if you've ever read my journal, but if you have you will know i gave up on the idea of moving away ( some 70miles ) to a better life style, job and a nice house, even if it would have been shared for a while, just to keep the peace with my girls, they hated the idea of me being so far away and what happens ?? they dont come near me.

im now begining to find all sorts of problems with the place im in, its got big damp patches comin through the walls, ive had to throw clothes and bedding out because its gone mouldy and because of this, theres always a horrible smell in here so half the time im ashamed to have anyone in here anyway in case they think its caused by a lack of cleaning !!!

ive possibly contributed to the downfall of the ozone layer cos im constantly spraying air freshener around the place.

im feeling very bitter towards them now, ive worked bloody hard, moreso over the last four years, to get what ive got and its all being ruined and im due to retire next march but im going to have to carry on working at this rate.

its not as if i expect them to wait on me hand and foot when i go to their homes, i cook clean, babysit and sort their gardens out for them but ive come to the same conclusion as you, im going to sit back and wait for them to come to me now, otherwise im going to worry myself into an early grave !!

i expect some people reading this are thinking " why dont i go to them ?" i dont drive so have to rely on public transport, which, because of the location and because its winter time here, now has been drastically reduced. its also quite costly and when they can come into town and go within a few yards of my front door to do their shopping and STILL cant make the effort to come here, im thinking why the hell should i bother either !!!

enough said !!

I don't read journals much, as some things have been said that shouldn't have. plus I think of them as diaries.

Since they no longer appreciate everything you have done for them, including not moving to where you wanted to?

......I would ignore them now.

Its just not worth your health and sanity.

Hi Helen and Odie !

I don't mind you using this thread to rant - I've done a bit of it myself !

Helen, Odie's right, just ignore them, if they can't be bothered to 'pop in' when they're in the area that's going to be their loss ! It's a pity you felt you should let them have some money for Christmas presents, firstly because you may not get it repaid (judging from past experiences !), secondly, have they really deserved help from the Cornwall donation society ??????

I just cannot understand offspring that totally neglect (cos that is what it is innit?) their mum ! Are they so selfish that their religion is 'I, me, my' now ?

Ere, Helen, join a social club (or whatever), there must be several around where you live, and you can get involved with other people who, I've no doubt, will soon become friends. I'm sure great fun can be had, even if it's only having a good old gossip over a cup of coffee ! Don't vegetate on your own, go out and have yourself some fun. OK, I know you play darts, but you could broaden your horizons a little, and then you can say to your daughters 'Sorry, dear, but I am far too busy at the moment, I've got to do so-and-so, and I will not be at home to see you! Call again next week, I may be at home on Wednesday next !' :yh_rotfl

I wish I was living down there, we'd bloody well cause a stir in the town!

:-6 :D

Hi Jazzy ! I'd better leave my 'jiggy' old girl there, if she causes you a smile or two !

It sort of goes with my attitude of 'recycled teenager' in my avatar, and the 'Saga lout, growing old disgracefully' in my siggy ! Although, at the moment, I don't feel very 'jiggy', but I am trying to get that attitude back again, very trying ! :)
