Did you just see theia's impersonation of Super Mario, flying into the lead at the beginning of lap 1?

I see theia's won twice in the last five days and the boopster once, that's three out of five wins for Cornwall. And one for New York, and I haven't a clue where FG's Dear Leader is at the moment.

Larsmac whipped the hide off the rest of the pack across November, we stood no chance.

Today, fortunately, is another brand new month. Dive in one and all, the award for December is up for grabs.

I'm not bitter either. My selfless part is to the fore as it wouldn't be much of a game if the likes of you and I didn't partake, to make the others look better.

I find that I do a lot better with the quiz if I take shortly after I awake and before I start working. If I wait til I have started work, it seems that the phone rings, or someone wants to chat right after I start the thing.

Or I just start over-thinking the questions.

For those not aware of the calendar, tomorrow marks a new Trivia contest at Forumgarden Trivia - Daily Trivia Game (it being Monday 1st June) and all the scores will have been zeroed. Those tempted will find there's more players early on in the month. At the moment we're averaging six or seven players each day. Everyone, member here or not, is very welcome.

Bookmarking (or Favoriting) the link makes it easier to get back to regularly, especially if you have a Bookmark or Favorites toolbar.

Are we still getting a different set of questions? If so, I see no point in playing a game which has questions about meaningless things (to me), that I know nothing about and will not retain the knowledge afterward. It's not a competition. I can just as soon pick a subject and see how well I do in an area in which I may have a clue.

I have to say, it was pretty much that, that stopped me playing. I struggled a good bit with a lot of the stuff and quite frankly some of the questions were hideously specialist or plain ludicrously daft.

As for the scoring, well....

Exactly my thoughts. I don't mind missing questions about facts that I may have known or could have known the answers to, but about things that I could not have known without being a specialist or having lived in a particular country? One of my daughters is a brilliant microbiologist and she missed one of the obscure questions when she was visiting me. Better to learn something which I will retain or may be interesting to me. Who cares about the birthdates or middle names of people I don't know or the schedules of companies I never heard of and never will?

I know I keep on about it but this is one that got to me a while back. I have no idea whatsoever what the question means and the answer didnt make sense either.

7. What would be the aorist of a stem that ends in a labial stop, like pi, beta, or phi? What is the correct first aorist of "graphO," "write"?

Your Answer: egrase

The correct answer was egrapse.

The stem is graph- To form the aorist, add a sigma and a weak aorist personal ending. A labial stop plus a sigma gives a psi. Hence, "egrapse."

I think perhaps the concept of "trivia" may have eluded some of you? It's not an IQ test, nor is it an exam.

I get what "Trivia" means but there has to be both a logic to the question so that an educated guess might help one get the answer and not be so extraordinarily bizarre.

I'm thinking along the lines of...."What was the model number of the engine the USAF used in their Starfighters during the 60's ?" There are probably only a few hundred people in the world who would know the answer to that. "Who won the FA cup in 1964 ?" is trivial but guessable at least.

The question and subsequent answer I posted above is a mystery to all but maybe you and God's English Master from University and then you probably both scratched your heads and wasted valuable time.

Its West Ham in case the question ever crops up
