My dad was a farmer and he once took mom to a fair and they saw a cow sculpture made from butter. After that when dad wanted to compliment mom he called her his sweet creamery butter cow.

Like rice. I sometimes make rice and raisins for a morning treat or brekkers. Some milk in it. but I usually make minute rice using chicken broth instead of water. Very good with fish.

My friends little brother used to eat the butter out of the fridge just like he was eating a candy bar.

My ex first try at making whipped cream turned out to be butter. Sad.

G;day Magenta, and Happy Christmas Eve. I should be getting dolled up to go to Midnight Mass, but I'm fiddling about on line instead. Grin.

Didya see there's a move to make the old style vegemite again. Before the PC brigade neutered it. Mostly black salt once - and we all grew up strong on that.

This thread, by the way, is iconic (whatever that means). It is an antidote to almost anything unpleasant in the garden. Not that there's anything unpleasant of course.. but it ticks away magically, spreading sweetness and light and .. hey I gotta make tracks. Seeyaround!!!

Yep you did grow up strong. I just had to rush out for one last gift. Not much but had to get coffee anyway. Walmart was teeming with Christmas Eve shoppers. Meself included. I am drinking a cuppa cinnamon coffee now because I was out of regular coffee.

I hope Santa did you right. We dont have a white Christmas here in Oklahoma. It was a little frosty this morning. I already got my black eyed peas for New Years day. I will need to get cabbage too tho.. Cabbage for money and the peas for luck.

G'day Guys!!! Didn't get home last night till the wee hours, so slept in. Just opened the Christmas ham, a little Christmas morning tradition here, and chomped some of that with summer fruit. YUMMO. Now I'm going out for a long peaceful walk around the lake here. Should be beautiful. It's actually cool today. Will be good weather for eating turkey later. The fam's coming over (well what bits of it are currently in the country!) late afternoon, and we'll unwarp the pressies then... in the meantime, all that lovely loot is still lying under the Chrissie tree - I just know I'm getting diamonds, pant pant pant.

A Kiss on the Hand may be Quiiiiiiiite continental, but diamonds are this girl's best friend....

:sneaky:

Lulu, Okie, Marie, Magenta - have a gentle day!!!!! Sending smiles and sunshine your way :-6

Er, and butter, BUTTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way to go Pam. Amber left for Texas with her dad and Karen went over to his house to dog sit. Really to enjoy the evening with his huge tv and so forth. Dustin went with her so me and the dogs are having Christmas Eve here.

We will have a turkey tomorrow and all the trimmings. I see a tiny bit of the state is having light snow so will have a white Christmas but its almost like the panhandle is part of Colorado, not Oklahoma.

I will enjoy the Oz Calendar. Thank you so much.

I use it all the time.

reading through this thread has got me thinking. Vegimite is a great source of vitamin B and it's great for your kids' brain cells. Introduce it to them as infants and they will love it.

Does anyone make their own peanut butter? I started after seeing the other added ingredients to the 'jar' peanut butter.

Grind up unsalted peanuts in a coffeee grinder. (clean) add buter and mix. It's so yum. And natural!
I've made peanut butter. Never tried vegemite, though.
