I missed you at breakfast over at Pj's Mussy. So would you like to join me for lunch at the Pub? The special today is a tuna melt on sourdough with lettuce and bacon. Sorry, no tomatoes.:D

Mmmm.....Hope dear, It's lovely...I nicked this from some site or other.

Traditional British Toad In The Hole Recipe

- 8 British Sausages (pork perferably)

- 300ml / half pint of milk

- 2 eggs

- pinch of salt

- 100g (4oz) of plain flour

Fry the sausages until just cooked (not well done) and put aside. Reserve some of the fat and juices extracted during the frying process.

Preheat your oven to around 200 centigrade (400 Fahrenheit).

Beat together the milk, eggs and flour until you have a thick sticky batter mixture with lots of air bubbles.

Pour around 3 tbsp of the sausage fats and juices into a yorkshire pudding tin or other small roasting tin.

Place the sausages in a single layer on the bottom of the baking tray and briefly place into the oven to heat the oil slightly.

Pour over the yorkshire pudding batter mix and return to the oven.

Bake for around 25 - 40 minutes until the batter has risen and turned a golden brown.

Serve immediately (or the pudding with flatten) with roast potatoes, vegetables, parsnips and gravy for a hearty traditional Great British meal.

Hi Babe and Hope!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - please pour me a very large beer, someone. I have just survived a week pretty much in the army. I don't think there is a single bit of me which doesn't ache, and in a minute I'm going to lie down and just sleep for a couple of hours..... the trainer was a really nice and interesting bloke - who'd served in Timor, Irak, Afghanistan. Geesch - the stories he told. Hearing it from someone who's been there is very different from reading some media or political news report. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Thanks, Hope - I went out like a light - but can't stay asleep. Got a dinner engagement. If I can walk. Grin. Actually, I feel good. I really enjoy getting totally physical from time to time. Tried to knock our trainer down in a boxing bout even - I didn't succeed, but he didn't knock me down either. :sneaky: There's a time to kick and run (he told me that!) And I think I've probably lost the extra couple of pounds I put on pigging out in France last month!!! Which is always a plus.

Didja read - Australians are now fatter than Americans!!? It's official. GEESCH. Or at least we have more "obese" people than America does, on the BMI or whatever index. Which is not quite the same thing, but still a bit of a worry. Ah well... off to eat again..

:D
