I have no idea what to do about this..
I walked into my spare back kitchen this evening and my son and some of his friends are in there using my coffee grinder to grind marijuana. I know they all smoke, but I'm not sure if I should tell them the're not allowed to smoke here and send them all out. If I do that they'll go to the park or to someone elses home where there may not be an adult around or they might get picked up by the police.
Should I let them smoke here and pretend I don't know about it, or send them out and maybe put them at risk?
What would you do?

You don't say how old your son is?
I would be very strict here and not allow them to smoke drugs in my house.
If you send them out and they get picked up by the police, it might be the shock your son needs.
Wonder what his friends parents would think if they knew you are allowing it in your house?
Think he needs a sit down talk and find out why he feels he needs to smoke drugs in the first place.
If he is at an age where you can't tell him what to do, then perhaps its time he got is own home where he can ruin his life there instead.
its his choice.

I don't know how it's viewed Down Under, but isn't it against the law to allow your house to be used to break the law? They could put you in jail!

I sent them out, I'm not happy with it as I also have a 14 yr old son her and 16 yr old daughter. the smoking one is 18 and just graduated high school.
As for other parents, I would probably be the most responsible out of all of them. I think the're a bit slack around here and I know some smoke themselves. He will be going to live with his father in a few months who is fairly strict so that should be good for him.
I was also worried if I allowed it I would end up with a whole heap of smokers turning up here and I don't want that. I have a pretty good reputation and I'd like to keep it..
Thanks for your advice

Well there has to be a balance too. They all came back but I'v told them all it's time to go home, it's 11:06 on a school night and some off them are girls, I think there must have been about 15 of them.
I really am going to bed soon, as soon as the last person leaves:D

Oz, in a nutshell, its your coffeegrinder and you dont want your coffee tasting like pot do you ?
Kidding, your the parent, not a friend. Be one. If you allow this it will come back to bite him in the ass later. Put you foot down and straighten his ass out.

I couldn't help but wonder if their pot tasted like coffee.
I will be talking about it with him tomorrow when he's straight again.

What I really mean Oz is that drugs and booze makes a life very hard to manage and its not very rewarding in the long run. I know. If you can set him straight now you will be saving him and yourself heartache later. The bottom line is his well being. Whatever it takes. Good luck and Im here if you need me. (Anytime)
