I really am NOT very amused by all the X-Mas stuff before I've cooked Thanksgiving dinner. I cook Turkey and all the trimmings. It is a longer holiday for families....................Can I have Thanksgiving first--Please

I AGREE!

I'm not ready for Christmas. At all. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! I refuse to skip it and start celebrating Christmas already. Let's wait till it snows.

The big T-day is November 24th. It's always the fourth thursday of November. And as the Pilgrims themselves came from Billericay, Essex, I personally think you guys should celebrate too! After all.........they were STILL British then!:yh_party

Thanksgiving is relaxing to most because nobody has any commitments.....just to EAT!! The biggest responsibility most have is to figure out is which dish to bring and what time to be there. Unless of course you are the cook! The cooks just can't hear about Xmas right now. I understand that!! St. Louis is blustery cold and rainy today....gonna build another fire in the fireplace. My little ones just love those duraflame logs that burn colors!!

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK and Christmas is a big thing over here I guess. The commercial side of Christmas starts far too early...October...hate it.

We also have Boxing Day and New Years Day as a holiday. Many companies close down for the week between Christmas and NEw Year...

If someone could post some more details about Thanksgiving, I would be very interested.
