I thought I would help out the members of FG by allowing them to post their Christmas letters to me here. I think all the good members of FG would love to hear your letters of what you want for Christmas. It will help me make my list full of the good things you want this year.

There is even room here for Mr. Grinch to put a nice letter to Santa.

Far Rider wrote: Dear Santa,

All last year I was a bad boy, I got into fights, used my new judo chop on tommy, boy did that send him flyin! I lost my fathers new drill (actually I broke it and lied that I lost it) but the magnets in the motor were the strongest Ive ever played with! Anyway, last year at christmas when you gave the the Coal and sticks, I was really unhappy, so this year in anger my heart shrunk, and Ive turned green! and now I like to eat garbage. Dad dosent mind so much now that they dont have to collect the garbage at the house. Anyway I was wondering, since i have more bad checks than good checks, if maybe you could see fit to get me an armor peircing bazooka! you see there are many many cats in our neighborhood and we need to get rid of them.

Oops... Dads coming and Im not supposed to be up...I'll have to finish this later.

P.S. Ah did you hear abotu the Bomb threat at school, that was not me! *crosses fonger behind back*
*bad check for Mr. Grinch*

I know you have a good heart inside of you, I will find it!

dear santy...i am paranoid. i have these random good impulses, but i LOVE scrooge.what is wrong with me? i try to be nice and then the spirit of scrooge overtakes me, kicking orphans, sending the poor to the workhouses, putting carolers in prisons, whatever shall redeem me? a few ghosts? the ghost if christmas past is some mincing fairy, the ghost of christmas present is a self-indulgent glutton, and the ghost of christmas future is a figure of death!!

Dear LC: I know you have a loving heart, and do many good things for people everywhere. You are only influenced lately by Mr. Grinch, and need to continue with your good works.

*good check for honesty*

Dear Santa:

For this Christmas will you please bring my wife some new work clothes so that she will look nice on her new job? It has been 9 long months since she has been able to work and I really want her to do well and be happy. A warm blanket would be nice for her, to keep her from getting too cold at night, and medical socks would come in handy too, to help the circulation in her legs and keep them from getting bad again. I would like you to give her a "quit smoking" patch, but she most likely wouldn't use it, so instead bring her a picture frame. A nice silver one that she can put pictures of our son and grandchildren in to remind her of the family that loves her.

For my Father-in-law, if you can bring him a new pancreas, that would be great. The cancer is eating his and the docs only give him 6 months to live. I would like more time to spend with him than that, he really is a remarkable man. If this is beyond your powers, then bring him a bible to read in his last days for comfort.

For my son, please bring him the materials he needs for college. He has quit his job, and I worry that he won't be able to pay the bills and will get into huge debt, but I honestly believe that education will help him in the future. He could probably also use a cookbook, since his diet seems erratic.

For my little grand-daughters, if you have a lucky charm that will repel child molesters, gangsters, and drug dealers, that would be great. If not, I will try to teach them to follow the right path myself. In that case bring them books. Lots of books. Books to make them smart enough to survive and thrive in this complicated world, and give them an escape when it gets too oppressive.

As for me....I won't be needing anything this year. I have a lovely wife, a wonderful son, and two gorgeous grand-daughters. They have all come together to teach me that they are infinitely more important than any material possessions. I'm finally happy in this life, and that's something that no plasma screen ever did for me.

Oh....but if you happen to have an extra iPod laying around, I guess you could put that in my stocking.

Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Claus,

Jonathan Andrew Saint Ives

Dear Santa,

Please don't let my son-in-law die in Iraq. Please give him the grace to know he is doing his job and protect him from the psychological reprocussions of killing. Protect my daughter from harm because I can't anymore.

Thanks - NV
