I have posted in the same thread... could you guys refer to her as

Val100 or something? I understand the desire to shorten it but I just

thought I read somebody saying something I TOTALLY didn't say!

I agree with LC. I like to go by Valerie, also. Valerie100 is different from Valerie. As long as the Members are aware that there are two of us, I don't see that there is going to be any confusion.

You really don't have the right to ask others to call me Val or anything other than my chosen screen name -- especially, when you didn't even doublecheck with me first, to see if it was okay with me, would I mind it, or anything else. You just went ahead and created this thread, asking the Community to call me something else other than my screen name. You don't have that right, and this thread it out of line. My screenname is my choice, not yours.

Very interesting that this person chooses to post this at 6:43 p.m.

(according to the date stamp) when I did in fact send her a pm at

9:35 a.m. saying something to the effect that I was sorry, I should

have checked with her first. PM's should be private so I didn't copy it

to show you all, but knowing my history on this board I'm sure most if

not all of you will take me at my word.



All of the Gardeners are NOT aware there are two separate, and there

HAS been some confusion. I didn't ask anyone to call you something

other than your screen name. The reference was made to "Val" and that

was the problem.



If *I* had entered the Garden POST Valerie100, you can make damn

sure I would try and keep designation between the two.



I have the right to ask anyone else anything I want and they can respond

to it however they want. This thread is NOT out of line by any stretch.

Quite frankly, I really don't care if anyone confuses us. That hasn't been a problem yet, so why should it ever be? Valerie and I can tell any ForumGarden Members who aren't sure which one of us they're talking to which one we are if we have to. That's not a problem. Besides, Valerie's a dog person. Valerie100 has Princess Leah issues. There's definitely no confusion there -- or is there?

had done that (and it was a forehead slapping moment, trust me) I

took steps to correct it right away, by pm'ing you. How else can I

say it? MEA CULPA. MY BAD. In front of everybody who reads this.

To try and make myself even MORE clear... I will try and re-state.

You exaggerate when you say I tried to have you called something

other than your screen name. People have been referring to posts

by one or the other of us using the shorthand "Val" and regardless

of what you think, it IS confusing, especially so for whatever

"newbies" might come across something. If the person quotes one

or the other of us, FINE. People haven't always been doing that.

They like to be friendly and say Val. I get it. But it IS a problem

and one that may only escalate.



Asking people who may already have been using "Val" to use "Val100"

instead isn't asking them to do that much. And for you, after all, it

drops 4 letters. Whoopee-zoo.



A lot of these people have known me for months if not for a year or

more. That doesn't take into account newer members, or members

who don't really pay that much attention to avatars.



Also: If I had come on here and realized there was another "Valerie"

on the board, I would have approached her FIRST and said, hey,

whaddya think, mayhap we can work something out? Because I

have been letting the "confusion" go for some time now. But it

needed to be cleared up. So, I tried.



You may not care if anyone confuses us, I do. And I think you should.

The best way to avoid confusion would be fo you to change your name to something no one else has, Valerie.

With the Halloween av changes, I didn't realize Valerie and Valerie100 were two entities, as I didn't really pick up on the 100 part.........

Glad to have this clarified as I, for one, was confused by the posts because both Valerie's are very distinct, but different, personalities.........

Did this really get dragged so far into the mud??? Good grief, a simple request about screen names goes south like this? I'd like to reiterate my previous assertion that Val100 has some issues. WTF is the big deal about asking for the 2 Vals to be clarified? Sounds easy and reasonable enough! Wow, if that was the biggest thing I had to gripe about I'd be a happy camper.

Valerie, I think your request was completely within reason, makes all the sense in the world, and I will be sure everyone understands who I am speaking to or about.

Any confusion that comes from it, we'll deal with it. I really don't care if people confuse us, as I don't see it happening much -- even with new members. Valerie says that she has known people here for about a year. That's nice. Then they have known her for about a year, and they know that I'm not her. Both Valeries are adults, and well, we'll deal with any confusion. I don't see the problem. What's the problem? We have the same name -- so what? Do you know how often that happens in life?

If Members chose to call either one of us Val, that's fine. I like my screen name as it is.

Valerie, I hope there are no hard feelings. I consider the issue over, done with, gone.

OK, its 12.40, I've spent half the night watching 3 well paid, professional, fully grown men in a Irish T.V. studio fight like jealous girls over a football player called Roy Keane, and I spent the other half fighting with my best friend (who is in Prague, on a mobile phone, so I'm also now broke) about the same fricking football player. I'm tired, my bank manager will want to see me in the morning, the country is in uproar over Keane, and I've had enough. Goodnight all.
