by maurice chevalier.....................Thank heaven for little girls
for little girls get bigger every day!
Thank heaven for little girls
they grow up in the most delightful way!
Those little eyes so helpless and appealing
one day will flash and send you crashin' thru the ceilin'
Thank heaven for little girls
thank heaven for them all,
no matter where no matter who
for without them, what would little boys do?
Thank heaven... thank heaven...
Thank heaven for little girls!........

Far, Your a wonderful father.. keep her close she will grow up to be a fine women..
I know what being the apple of your fathers eye is like.. I look so much like my father they use to call me "Little Andy". My dad taught me how to do just about everything... He taught me how be rough and tumble and still be a lady at all times..:sneaky: How to work on cars, fix stuff all around the house.. drive, skate, play contact sports.. you name it I learned it from him..:-4
So Far your sweet daughter probably looks up to way more then you will ever know..:-6

I wanna go skating toooooooooooooooo.:-1 I only ice skated a few times, but loved roller skating. Now with the arthritis, I'm afraid to put my body through more than it has to endure in daily life.
Hope your daughter had a wonderful birthday. Sure sounds like she did.:-6

Oh Buttercup...yes I do believe 3 girls is a lot! More than I could handle. I am the middle of 3 girls. At first didn't know what to do w/ a son, but discovered real quick how easy boys were. Then had another son...both so laid back/easy going. When doc told me my 3rd would be a girl, I was scared to death!!! I didn't want to raise what I was!!! She is 3 yrs old now and I realize how wonderful it is to have a daughter. One little girl. Full of energy/ideas....knows exactly what she wants all the time. She would wear you out in an hour!!!!!! LOL...
And Far....Happy Birthday to your little girl....(yes, little--she will always be your little girl)! You're a good daddy!

When my daughter turned 10 she wanted to have a sleep over at a hotel. I rented a suite at a hotel with an indoor pool and room service. I love my daughter too. She's 21 now, married and living across the country. Enjoy her before she grows up Far. They DO leave home.

Yes - one day you will walk down the aisle and give her to another man. She will make this man HER family and give you granchildren. AND - she will always love you for showing her how to select a good husband. Afterall - she had YOU to compare all other men by. Feel proud in what you give her now.

Happy Belated 13th to your lovely girl Farlie.
Skating whooo weeee I love skating. Back in the day.... ahahahaha my girlfriend and I skated tirelessly with the boys, and played hockey with them because back then there were no girl teams. (hence the knee troubles of today)
This winter I am taking the Beau skating he has only been once and I can't wait to get im out there on the pond at night with the bonfire roaring and the christmas lights all around, very romantic. And a first... me teaching him ahaha ooo what fun.

My daughter is the eldest of my three children. The other 2 are boys who are 18months and 4 years younger than her. She's now 37 with a 15 year old daughter and is a single parent with 1 failed marriage and several failed relaionships behind her. She has always been fiercely independent and despite all my best efforts, although we love each other dearly, we have never been REALLY close until 6 months ago when I started to attend Buddhist meetings with her. She has been a buddhist for 9 years. I was VERY protective of her in her teenage years knowing the vulnerability of young girls and I guess she resented this...however, now she has a teenage daughter of her own, she understands how I felt. We are very close now and I guess we are soul mates at last.
My sons have always been close to me (specially the youngest who didn't leave home until he was 30ish)....I guess boys are closer with their Mums.
I am still learning how to be a good Mum and enjoying every moment of it. :-6

Awww!! I do so love my boys....I know society makes them out to be "tougher" than girls, but I really believe they are much sweeter than the girls....all momma's boys. Most of the little girls I know are downright bullies!! Their fast, competitive and manipulative. That said, I love my daughter. But already at 3 she is a sneak. She already knows how to push the boys buttons. She is quick thinking and knows what she wants. The boys are laid back and take what the day throws at them!
