On this day 1980

Always remember this day as a) the day JWL was murdered and b) the day my Gran had a stroke which eventually led to her death on Christmas day1980.
Will always remember going to see her the morning after and seeing the Daily Mirror on her hall floor with the awful headline and Lennon looking up at me.
After Petula Clarks "Downtown" the next song I remember was "I wanna hold your Hand"and like the whole world fell in love with the Fab 4. Used to have an orange plastic ukelele with a sticker of The Beatles as the scratchplate. Would be worth a bob or two now. Like a lot of people today I gave one of his CD's a whirl and reconnected with genius
