Home to stay and the town is welcoming them all home next Saturday in Fairfield! We will defiantly make the trip to see our hero home! IF you google the 224th you will see just how much they have lost in a year- I think it comes to be 8-9 deaths and 12 sent home with serious injuries..They were finding IED's and it was very dangerous. They were with a group of Marines and a lot of them lost their lives also...

They were stationed by Ramadi, north of Bagdad..some of our local guys went to replace them 3 months ago- so its kind of a sweet/painful welcome home..) The guys I knew from down south when we lived there have made it home--but yet my hometown guys are headed that way.......

I just wish they could all come home soon......

I have a friend that went overseas just last month and it already seems like six. He will be there for atleast eighteen months. He drives a truck over there. I can only pray he comes back alive and with all body parts. My hubby misses him just as much as I do, they are great friends. Before our friend left they sat at the dining room table talking about what a great team they'd make over there. The hubby would be the sniper and the friend would point them out for him....it was great listening to them. He called us yesterday and left a message on the machine, just a quick call to say he was alright. Of course I cried like a baby. We miss him so much. :-1

Red One.you wouldn't believe how much little packages mean to them over there--a card, a bag of candy--our guy loved when his girlfriend would spray a little perfume on her letters...He said you miss the smells you take for granted over there......You will have to email him..It takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get mail over there so about the time you send a letter or package be preparing another....They really appreciate them....I will be praying for him!:-4

I sure can use the advice on what and what not to send to him. I've never gone through this before and I'm not sure what to do as far as care packages go.
On another note, a guy the hubby went to school with served in the military and went over there three times, well the last time he came home it was for his funeral. Then this hate group came, I think they're from Topeka, Kansas, that Baptist church, (nothing against Baptist people or any other religion

). These people were shown the door out of the town I live in. No one took what they were dishing out this time, the police escorted them and told them the funeral was private for family and friends only and they needed to leave immediately before someone in their group was hurt beyond hope. They asked why someone would hurt them, the police asked them why someone like themselves would protest at someones funeral, no respect for either side. That hate group really yanked my chain! I can control my temper for the most part but when someone crosses that line..... tsk tsk tsk.... LOL! :wah:
