For me, I'd live back in the 1940's and I'd be a singer with a Big Band orchestra. I'd be all dolled up with perfect hair and this long gown, spotlight trained on me as I stood in front of the microphone stand singing classics like, "I've Got a Crush On You", "Lover Man", "Someone To Watch Over Me" with a rousing "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" tossed in for a change of pace.

And the dancing afterwards would be way cool too!


Nice, My granny was kickin it up during that era. Mac the Knife too oooo yeah it holds a special place in my heart as her fave song.

My Era gosh which one, most often Pioneer woman. Hard work, isolation, Big families, super strong family values. Living off the land and working at making everything. No store bought anything.

same here Jab! innocent and sweet times despite the war. i love the clothes, the music and the movies.

I love the clothes of the 20's and 30's so that would be my era of choice..!!~

hard work for sure. But I like the "family values" of that era. Every one was family, every one pitched in, everyone loved.

I had appendicitis in 1970 and it sure wasn't a cup of tea then! Damn near died.

A guy at work had his appendix removed recently and they make these little incisions to get at it, instead of one big cut. Much fast recovery time.


You'd be so cool to take out on the town, being a hypochondriac. (No offense here) But with things scaring you so, I think you'd be a hoot to hang out with and have fun!

Had my gall bladder removed that way. Boy did I feel betrayed. Everyone kept saying what a piece of cake it would be --- home in a day. I was in horrible pain and in hospital for 4 days!!!!!!!!!! Surgery in NOT fun in any era!

Lived through No washing machine and using 'mangles'....coal fires and boilers....no fridge....ice on the inside of the windows...wouldn't want to go back ....



I would like to know about the future though.

I would go back to when I was a child in the 50s, happy and carefree. Life was not so complicated, but full of fun and adventure. We were safe to run around our neighborhood, amazed at the wonder of nature, and would be jumping up and down anticipating Christmas almost being here!

The future holds no magic for me. We will be able to do stuff quicker, cheaper and make them smaller.But probably all in exchange for more people, less space and less fresh air to breath . I'd trade my ipod for more birds in my garden
