BR left this in another thread:

"I think the winter/holiday blahs are setting in with a bunch of us. There seems to be a whole lot of sad and depressing crap going on with a lot of us...."

So......I think we should start talking about some wonderful things that are happening to us, maybe to inspire someone else, make them laugh, or make them warm, or take their mind off trouble for just a minute or two at least, etc...what do you guys think?

I will go first!

Yesterday my husband and I went shopping for two families we "adopted" for the holidays. One was through my job and the other my husband and I took care of. It was sooooooo much fun shopping for toys!!! I would have stayed in there hours longer if I could.....I loved it! We dont have kids yet, and I just smile to myself every time I think about how good and fun it was to pick out and wrap toys for children!!!!!!!

I will soon get to me my husband's grandmother. I've spoken with her a couple of times over the telephone but have never had the chance to meet her. My in-laws are packing her stuff up and selling her house and moving her down here. I'm so excited I'm about to burst! She's Italian and from what I've gathered is related to the maphia (?) (not bragging either :) ). When my hubby and I were getting ready to marry she called and gave me her blessings on marrying her oldest grandson. I thought that was way cool. I'm anxious, can't hardly wait to see her!!!!

I like it

Last nite I picked up pizza and beer and personally delivered it to my overworked beau at the house from hell (his newest project a rental property which he has taken from ecoli trap back to liveable again)

And to see the smile on his face was beyond words. :D (very cool coming from a guy who rarely shows his emotions when stressed)

the opposite of depressed is opening the door to one of your marvellous group of volunteers from work who says "I heard that things were not too good at the moment, so..." and who presents you with a huge bunch of pink carnations and an even huger hug...I suppose that says it all about the kind of people who volunteer:-4
