If you already read my request to help out on Christmas Day, which I posted a couple of weeks back, please excuse the repetition. However, with just four days to go, for the benefit of those who didn't, I am appealing to adults and youngsters alike to help out after the Christmas lunch is over by doing the washing up, making sure that your Mum/wife is able to take a well earned forty minute rest. Forty minutes plus isn't too much to ask, and is a great way to say "Thanks Mum, for all you've done." Finally, may I wish everybody out there a safe and enjoyable Christmas, whether they believe or not. As our Saviour said: Peace be with you." Thank you.

I'm absolutely delighted. Likewise, I too have done the same for the past thirty years, including holidays. It would be wrong though to expect others to follow suit. I thoroughly enjoy cooking. Although no Cordon Bleu, I am more than capable when it comes to home cooking. My ability was self-taught. My late father and I got so fed up with eating Fray Bentos steak and kidney pies, or eating out of restaurants, in the end, we taught ourselves. My love for cooking started early when, rather than play cowboys and indians, I'd have just as much fun helping my late mother make jam tarts and roly poly. History tells us all the top chefs for royalty were, in fact, men. Personally, I'd much prefer a duck, swimming in oil, but I can't, lest my cholestrol go through the roof. Mmmmm, C'est bon!!

Two things I always hankered after...1.) Running a cream tea parlour, or 2.) running a mobile sandwich stall. Both could earn you a fortune, but both are very seasonal, but the biggest profit margin of all is in a cup of tea. Some hot water, a tea bag and a drop of milk - 60p (I don't know what that is in cents). Trouble is, after thirty-five years in the same firm, I guess I've missed the boat!
