So ya

Thought ya

Might like to go to the show

To feel the warm thrill of confusion

That space cadet glow

Tell me is something eluding you sunshine?

Is this not what you expected to see?

If you'd like to find out what's behind these cold eyes?

You'll just have to claw your way through the

Disguise
Are there any queers in the theater tonight? Get 'em up against the wall....

Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used.

Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise.

If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my own way out of this maze?
So, so you think you can tell,

heaven from hell

Blue skies from pain

Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail

A smile from a veil

Do you think you can tell

Being as this next one is one of my all-time absolute favorite Floyd songs, it will be posted in it's entirety:

Ticking away, the moments that make up a dull day

You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown

Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain

You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today

And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you

No one told you when you to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking

racing around to come up behind you again

The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older

Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time

Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say.

That has always been one of my favourite Floyd tracks too. I can't ever say that I wasn't warned. So ****ing philosophically and temporally true. Other than that, I was always partial to Corporal Clegg, I've Got a Bike, St. Tropez, The Grand Vizier's Return, Grantchester Meadows, A Lot of Furry Animals Grooving in a Cave with a Pict, Echoes, St. Tropez, Breathe and Breathe Reprise, Wish You Were Here, Dogs... But I thought their performance on G8 was beyond expectation and was enhanced by the warm cheers from the crowd. So maybe that's the something more that couldn't be thought of.

It doesn't seem that long ago when I wrote down the lyrics to Time and Dogs and gave them to my psychologist so that she might have an inkling of an idea as to where I was coming from. Well, if she did, she certainly didn't let on to me other than suggesting that we should become unprofessional. But that's a wholly different story and more than one decade past now.

Pink Floyd. So many memories.
