I'm I'm to this role playing game.
Tho I've been with the Garden for a while now, I've only just posted in a more serious vein. Just straight forward posting on a variety of subjects that caught my interest.
Lately I've tried to move into the chatty, bantering, role-playing part of the Forum and boy is that a different kettle of fish........... I've had a good time with my posts, but PM's have come in to me with apologies for upsetting me on posts where I thought I was being funny. I thought they were just being 'too sensitive', but lo and behold, I find, it is ME!
In the flesh, I'm a very funny person: People who 'know' me enjoy my sense of humor. Why oh why is there confusion about this here?
Well, for one thing, you can't see me. You think you can, but you can't.
I tried to copy what I saw. I love the pics and as soon as I learned how to master this skill, I used it.
I personally liked the bolded type in LC's posts, so I picked that up too. However when I use it, people think I am shouting at them, especially when I post in caps.
Guess this is where the smilies come in. Yes, I saw them, but I saw them not realizing I was seeing them, so I did not pick up on this. I need to assimilate these into my posts so fellow gardeners know I am not an angry person spewing venom on others.
The Hug post was a beautiful creation by BR. Where it diverted from hugging, it was all in good fun on my part.
CD, Basco, Snooze and Far all know I am playing. This is to let everyone else know this too until I can get my texts to reflect my personality better.
Bear with me. Advise me if you have any suggestions.
I can be taught!

I still do it. Its probably why Admin gave us the PM facility. Some people dont get my cruel sarcastic humour ha ha ha, (thats me being cruel and sarcastic )
Thanks Arnie. When there's a question about how to take something, I try and look on the upside of it.

We love ya just the way you are SOJO. :-4

But you're right, without actually hearing a person's tone of voice & or seeing their body language things can get misinterpreted. :-2 It's hard when you can't see the person, maybe that's what this place needs, a "two-way" video screen! That would be a hoot!! Anyway, no offense taken here, I for one find your humor exhilarating. :p

I know. . . and when you just view 'em they call you a lurker...........
I'd say just jump right in and try it. It sorta flows after while. Next time you see I'm at the Pub come on in and say 'HI'. I'll get you in the conversation. Everyone is real friendly at the Pub. . . . some more so than others

but I can't tell you any tales. What happens at the Pub, Stays at the Pub. :yh_rotfl

I guess being a lurker is better than being a 'stalker'
I've been a 'fly on the wall' in the pub a few times...it is fun in there.

Sojo,
I've been there & seen i in others. We all come in with one persona, then when we start to show other facets, it freaks some people out. I started here quite serious then relaxed; I hit a couple of snags but nothing major. Nomad started out very light and then started showing his sensitive side; some people thought he was putting them on, they didn't know how to take him. Just be you, ........... & pick a galdurn av, wontcha?!?

Decisions are real hard for me to make. Guess it goes with my procrastination problem. I'm still evolving and with so many others trying on new hats, I want to experiment too.......... tho this is the one that makes me happiest, so far.................

I mentioned before that I liked Greenie. It reflects your fun personality.
My beloved has issues with making decisions as well. She is always torturing herself trying to decide to pick this one or that, or wear the blouse or the dress, etc. Drives me up the wall, until I remember that she decided to marry me, then I feel special. :-6

For some reason, Greenie has lost her bounce as an AV.
Another problem to solve............. :-3
