What is the future going to be like? How do you feel about the present?

I guess per capita all in all humans are making a good leap forward. Sure we think there is more crime, poverty, war etc, but our population grows too. I guess I base my answer on.... the folks I have encountered in my life are generally great folks. Or maybe I choose to not be around the not so good and am content to live my life from behind rose colored glasses hehehehe

I think of the Golden Age in terms of knowledge-yes, we have a greater increase in knowledge, but is it used for the majority of mankind? I do not think so. I chose so-so as my vote, we could definitely do better.

I think as Humans we need to really look at our mistakes as a whole and also bloomin take notice of this beautiful planet we are destroying....
We sometimes think we are so clever, and forget that sometimes theold ways are the best...
I live in hope!

I would have to vote that evil is winning...........................on the basis that good, in trying to conquer evil is in fact turning evil.

if that makes sense.

I've not thought about this, so the following is off the top of my head and is just sort of a gathering of thoughts. I reserve the right to update this at a later time.
In the present, in our world............
I don't feel I am as well off as I once was A lot of people I know feel the same.
When I was growing up there always seemed to be such hope. Work hard and you will succeed. Throughout our parents live, they saw results from their endeavors and progress. Their lot in life improved as they grew older.
Now-a-days, I think peple know a lot more about how the world runs and feels that change is not in their power; and no matter what they do, the die is cast. I think a sense of hopeless prevails in the world today. An acceptance of "It is what it is"; let's get through it.
In the future, in our world...............
I think there will be the super-rich and a whole lot of poor, poorer and very poor people. I think there will be a lot of conflict, fighting and wars.
We do have many new technologies which it is said, "has improved our lives", but people in general are more isolated from friends and family and seem less happy with what they have, what they do in life and what they expect out of their lives.

I like to think of myself as an optimist. It feels good in my head and my soul to believe it will be OK if I only turn it over to the higher powers that be. I've had more than one person tell me they think I'm just danged lucky because it looks as if I've dug the hole or fallen in the hole (cancer) and refused to stay there. I've had to build several ladders to stand on the top side of this Earth. I think that is hard work coming from acknowledgement of personal mistakes - JMO.
I always feel lucky - there is a good side if you take self pity out of the picture. I read a study that said people who feel lucky always do better in life because of their positive attitude. I know most of you know I do not have a strong belief in a Christian God - but I do have a strong belief in the power that makes up our human mind. It comes from my study of physics.
OK - I'm rambling and will get off my little soapbox.

It's the world 'out there' that I'm not so optimistic about. I worry that despite all the positive advancements, there is still so much to be done. I'm losing more and more faith in our leaders to set the right course without a look to how it will affect their chances in the next election.
What we really need to vote on is how we feel - about what we want our next leader to accomplish.
OH YEAH.......we are just one tiny vote with NO lobby behind us. Perchance we should go after the lobby people.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHH Darn - didn't they hang themselves and about 200 senators and representatives?

This reminds me of a bumber sticker I just saw the other day:
"If voting could really change things, it would be illegal"
