i am mystified why i just received this, and the child has been missing since 12/27.

Missing child may be in East Tennessee

Tabatha Lively is missing from Brevard, North Carolina.

The Lively family says they just want Tabatha returned.



A 13 year old North Carolina girl is missing. Officials in Tabatha Lively's hometown of Brevard believe her uncle abducted her and may have been headed to East Tennessee, where he has family.

At first the case was reported as an Amber alert, but later state officials said no Amber alert was issued.

Tabatha Lively has brown hair and blue eyes. She is five feet one inch tall and weighs 137 pounds. She has been missing since Tuesday morning.

Officials suspect she was abducted near her home by her uncle, Samuel Lively. He is 41 years old with tattoos on his arms and shoulders.

Tuesday night Brevard, North Carolina police issued an Amber alert.Advertisement





But the state of North Carolina did not follow. State officials say the case does not meet the criteria because there is evidence the girl went with Lively voluntarily and she brought some clothes with her.

Since North Carolina did not issue an Amber alert, Tennessee did not either, even though officials say Lively might be headed to East Tennessee.

Tabatha is 13 years old, but Brevard authorities say because of limited mental capabilities she functions as a 10 or 11 year old. They say they believe she is in danger, so they issued an Amber alert as soon as they could.

The suspect drives a 1986 blue Ford pick up with faded red or rust on the truck. The license plate is North Carolina registration TWC 2783.
