Well, at least 1/3 of middle school students at my school have cell phones. Alot of them call their parents who work, and if the parent can't get ahold of the child they are worried. I have a few who dash into my room after school to call, because reception is good from that location.

I am so much more comfortable knowing my kids can contact me any time, they all have mobiles and when I'm away from home and running late I like to be able to call and check that every thing is ok. I also like to be able to call them when there out at a party to check the're ok.

My partner often recieves calls from work when were out but I have to accept that as it's part of his job as an engineer and local emergancy manager. If he didn't have a phone he would have a pager for work and have to find a phone to call in.

I find that my phones relive my tension as I don't have to worry if every ones ok.
