Carinthia is the southernmost province in Austria, on the border with Italy and Slovenia.

Anyway, I'm teaching English here in Austria. I have a degree in language from the University of California and the head of the German department there was from this part of Austria, she recommended this program to me. I liked it here a lot my first year so I decided to stick around for a second. I'll probably be back in California to stay for a little while by 2007, though.

Oh, a fellow alumni. I graduated in 2003, but finished my classes earlier. An excellent university.

I had mixed experiences with the place. But sometimes you just have to take the bad along with the good. I graduated in 2004.

I was a History grad student, the department is very good there.

I'm looking to do the grad student thing myself once I'm back home.

Then I wish you luck, it is a good graduate program there.

Not at UCR, though! Their language department has changed totally in the past couple of years. The first place on my list of possibilities is the Monterey Institute of International Studies. I already know a few people who are going there and they seem to say it's worth the trip up to Northern California.

That is too bad about the language department. The History Department continues to expand and will continue to over the next decade.
