Another Kennedy Scandal?

The Boston Herald is reporting Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) has a "secret love child." Is this credible? Can Ted Kennedy afford another scandal? Is this hypocritical, based on Mr. Kennedy's flogging of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito within the past two weeks about his past?

Note: The Boston Herald has been owned by Patrick Purcell as an independent newspaper since 1994.

going to be cautious what i say here, but i was one of 17 Mass. trial court law librarians, and a DA investigator. ...teddy was a joke to all of us who knew him. who cares about another scandal however, he has the money and name to protect him, and a blonde in every pond. i do have a photo however, of his naked butt waving in the air over some female in a dinghy off hyannisport.

I appreciate that. I spent a couple years in Chatham during the 1980's and heard the rampant Kennedy rumors. This story seems to have legs, based on the Herald's reporting. You have a good point about the money. It talks, for sure. Just please... don't post the picture. :-3

I think the point is that there are no real heroes and icons. Every public figure has a soft spot of vulnerability and doesn't walk on water.

Is there dirt being dished on alito?:-2 Hasn't the guy been an appeals court judge since GWs dad appointed him? And 'now' folks are finding issue with him?

I believe it's because he is being scrutinized for the highest court in the land and the fact that he has been a member of affiliations (that he has listed) he now denies (or can't recall) being a member and the big meanies have the audacity to ask about them, .....it's all Clintons fault you know, how dare them ask him things that made the Mrs. cry...............

Whatever you do, don't forget that sacred incantation of "alleged." If you do, it might be crucifiction time. Especially where the Kennedy's are concerned. They could just hire someone to do it for them. :o

No disrespect to young Mary Jo's memory, but with all the new information on Teddy's Cape Cod escapades, I wonder if she might have been with a "love child" too. Was her autopsy report ever made public? There was so much covered up in that case, it wouldn't surprise me. After all, it's Uncle Teddy. :sneaky:

I'd always heard those Kennedy boys made real quick tracks with the ladies.... just not that quick. Thanks for setting that straight. One love child is enough for a lifetime, I'm sure. ;)

"Love child" is simply a common phrase that has been used for decades as a more acceptacle version of the specific and pointed term cited below. "Hippy" - now that's a blast from the past.

From the Webster's New World College Dictionary:

"bastard n. 1 a person born of parents not married to each other; illegitimate child

Ted Kennedy resigned from a group in the past few days he said "was basically a fraternal organization" that denied membership to women. Yet he went after Samuel Alito with a battle ax for belonging to an alumni group that Mr. Alito wasn't even active in, other than receiving their magazine. Ted Kennedy... hypocrite.

Come to think of it, Senator Kennedy did kind of sound like Senator McCarthy....

"Mr. Alito, are you now a member, or have you ever been a member, of a college alumni association that routinely sent out magazines to its members? If so, are you now prepared to take an oath of allegiance and renounce your membership to that alumni association?"
