Has anyone on been watching this (in Britain)? I think it's one of the best things on TV for a long time. It's sort of like 'Back to the future' meets 'Quantum Leap' and has a scrap with 'The Sweeney'.

Being my favourite Bowie song, I was compelled to watch the 1st episode which I loved. 1973 was my favourite year of music so the soundtrack is interesting. Nice bit of Free tonight and even a bit of Uriah Heep!.

I can't imagine the Police were such a bunch of cowboys back then, but there's a definate nod to The Sweeney. Some very clever lines in there and a blatant disregard for preserving a crime scene - a sort of CSI Up North.

I enjoy it even though you can see what's coming right from the off. Is this a one-off series?. I wonder if he'll wake from his coma and the WPC will be a nurse and his guvnor will be a leading brain surgeon

I agree totally, the music is brilliant, using 'Immigrant song' to advertise it worked for me.

I have to admit that I don't know if it's a one off or not, I think he might meet some of the characters from the 70's when he wakes up though, maybe it'll go a bit 'Wizard of Oz'.

If you only saw the first episode then you won't have seen the girl with the clown from the BBC2 test card leave her blackboard and appear in his room and talk to him. That really freaks me out. I always found that picture frightening, and in a funny way a bit sad.

I've seen every episode so far, and yeah, the test-card kid is a bit freaky. Know what you mean about the trailers, they did prompt me to take Zep 3 out to the car.

Maybe we'll get a tune from your namesakes - hopefully Gudbye T Jane

Unfortunately, one of my earlier nicknames was "Essex" as my mates thought I had a barnet like David Essex!!!!

I did have quite large side burns once, but nobody ever called me Noddy, missed opportunity really...

I have to keep them to half an inch past my earlobe nowadays, by order of the other half...

The guy over the road was known as Noddy. Served him right for having a friend with big ears
