Why are more black people dying of AIDS than others? Is it an immune system problem, their behavior, poverty, or was the disease created and introduced by a racist? I think the answer to this question is a key to slowing and/or stopping the suffering and death being experienced by all races, particularly Blacks.

It doesn't help when you have the president of South Sfrica saying it's not caused by a virus and the catholic church preaching against the use of condoms on the rather dubious basis that they don't help stop the aids virus.

promiscuous people. Sub-groups of those will be practically immune, due

What you say is logical to me. It isn't what I'm hearing the "experts" say. They say black people are somehow more likely to be infected because of race. There are also those who say it is an engineered desease, designed to infect one race more than others.

Which experts might these be, then, I wonder? There are "conspiracy theorists"

all over the place, but is there any real evidence?

forget it. 'reputable scientific opinion' is a loaded term anyway. if you're looking for science, then you aren't looking for opinion.

Why is promiscuity, leading to AIDS, so rampant among blacks? Is it caused by external forces on black culture(s) or is it self imposed?

Promiscuity does not lead to AIDS, unless that "disease" is present in the

population already. What we consider promiscuity may be the social norm

elsewhere - parts of Africa, for instance - or Iceland.

Clint has hit the nail on the head.

The last several UN sponsored reports on the proliferation of AIDS among Blacks in Africa was due to behavioral issues.

They found that the even among the married men and women, it was culturally acceptable to have several concurrent lovers. (For both the husband and wife.)

For the math whizzes who are reading this, you can see how this exponentially increases exposure rates.

The main item that set them apart from their caucasian counterparts is that their "extra-marital" relationships were over a longer period of time. This results in a much higher risk factor due to having more exposure to a potentially infected person.

In addition, with the longer timeframes of "affairs", each partner was getting exposed to a larger virus base due to the increasing number of partners on both sides over time.

AIDS is about behavior. STD's are about behavior.
