Clever, but I've seen lots of these before. It's one of those that no matter what u choose will always land on the same symbol.

I don't want to spoil it, though.

That would be too easy! :yh_tong2

Do several and write the results. You should see a pattern. :yh_hypno

Well I had a think about the above puzzle. This is how to beat the magic.

Stage one: Do the same easy sum a few times, ie 10 - (1 + 0) = 9. Notice how for each new attempt the symbol for 9 is different, while all the other symbols don't change. This hides the fact that 9 is important here.

Stage two: Do several sums without clicking the crystal ball. Note how for every sum done in each multiple of 10 the answer was the same.

To prove what I mean:

10 - (1+0) = 9 20 - (2+0) = 18 30 - (3+1) = 27 etc.

11 - (1+1) = 9 21 - (2+1) = 18 31 - (3+1) = 27

12 - (1+2) = 9 22 - (2+2) = 18 32 - (3+2) = 27

etc etc etc

Stage three: note how every answer is a multiple of 9. This is because any 2 digit number less the sum of the digits is a multiple of 9.

Stage four: repeat the process down to a single digit, & note you always end on a 9. Ie

9 = 9

^

18 - (1+8 ) = 9

^

27 - (2+7) = 18

^

36 - (3+6) = 27

etc.

Stage five: test the outcome. See what the symbol for 9 is each new time, & click the ball. Note that you get this symbol in the ball each time.

Isn't maths fun?
