Did the guards have the right to ask her to leave?

I'm gonna say yes since Sheehan was asked to leave also for wearing a anti-war shirt. I do however support the troops. I think it was the fair thing to do.

I listened to Air America all day. They screamed about Sheehan all day long. I didn't here about The other lady until I watched the news at supper. It's amazing how similar conservatives & liberals are.



As for not letting them in, I agree. It was not the time nor place for demonstrations.

She certainly didn't follow the 'unspoken' dress code for the event and she most definitely knew better.

Kids in school can't wear tee's with certain solgans on them, why would she think she could proclaim her support with a tee shirt at this gathering!

She most certainly should have been expelled from the House. What she did was very rude to say the least and she has a fool for a husband for condoning her actions. There's a time and place for most everthing, but the House was certainly not the place for this.

School kids cannot wear shirts with almost any sort of words. No matter what the words say, they are gonna offend someone. but I read how they escorted Sheehan out. I am sure it was not the same sort of escort the senators wife got.

I read something even worse once a man and his son bought t shirts at a mall and put them on. They were anti war. The mall security grabbed them and told them to take them off. They said if they didnt take them off they had to leave. One refused so they had to leave. Mall security is not always right. I saw a special once about Mall Of America and the mall security grabbed some kids sitting at a table not doing a thing. but they had no shopping bags.. So they had to go.

So, I guess freedom of expression has gone right down the crapper....

There's also a concept of decorum and respect for the occasion. Like the facial contortions and eye rolls of Senator Billary Clinton during the speech. Billary should have been expelled with the pro and con political protestors. Protest outside the halls of Congress. Show some respect.

Cindy Sheehan was invited there for that very purpose. It was manipulatory and Im sure her expulsion was by design. *tips hat to Cindy Sheehan*

It brought attention to her cause.

I agree with Snooze, it was a formal speech and people should dress accordingly, or don't go.

I wouldn't wear my jeans if I was there!
