Happy families ... black and white colobus monkey Clover holds her newborn /
CLOVER and Brodie are as proud as any new doting parents.
The pair have just welcomed the arrival of their first born, a black and white colobus monkey, at Melbourne Zoo.
The baby was born on January 9 and has yet to be named.
Mum Clover was also born at Melbourne Zoo and was later joined by Brodie, who was moved from the Perth Zoo as part of a regional breeding program to protect the endangered species.
Colobus monkeys are native to parts of Africa and are distinguishable by their striking glossy black and white pelts and flowing tails.
Their coat has made them an attractive target for poachers - a practice that has rendered them an endangered species.
