Okay this is maybe a female orientated rant but I have to have it.

I have been having problems with my periods (won't go into detail as I was to spare peoples stomachs). I asked my doc to refer me to a Gynecologist so I wait 4 months for an appointment.

When I lived in Germany and you had to go you just picked one out of the phonebook called and made an appointment and that was it but not in the good ol' Emerald Isle.

You have to wait four months for one.

So I go in today not feeling great because I have a kidney infection (again) and then I wait 2 hours getting more nervous by the minute for my exam. I finally get in there and the doc was really nice and everything but as every woman knows this is not a comfortable thing.

Anyway she goes for gold and I burst into tears and now it turns out I have to go for more tests, pelvic floor exam and some kind of thing where they knock me out and put a camera in my womb etc.

This country is sooooo backwards sometimes it makes me nuts :-5

Thanks Gals, I shouldn't be cribbing when it's not really a big deal. I will now cheer up :) and be grateful that at least I can get help when I need it and can afford care and medicine. Life is good really but thanks for allowing me my rant :)

A friend of mine is a Gynaecologist and I can thoroughly recommend him. He decorated my hall through the letterbox :o

Sorry ladies

Sorry to hear of your troubles Jenny. At least, now that you've finally gotten in to see someone, they are fully exploring the problem (no pun intended). Be of good cheer. We understand your concern and will support you through this. :-4

Oh hunny, I know this is not fun but its FAR better to deal with it and have any treatment needed, than to let it go or have a swift appointment and be told to go away cos you're fine and then later on things are worse because they haven't been treated!

I went for treatment a year ago for some minor problems and found I had diabetes AND some precancerous cells! I'm being treated for both now, and while its worrying and a pain in the butt, at least I'm dealing with it and coping. Had I left it, or NOT had a doctor who checked things out thoroughly, I could easily be facing a heart attack/ a stroke/ or cancer in 5-10 years from now!

Chin up hun! We are women! We rock!! ;) :-4 :-6
