Are all of the new trailers sitting on the trains so the ones who need them can admire them because FEMA and local govt. cant pull their heads out of their asses ?

I was watching CNN last night and some of the insurance co's are denying claims because people didnt have flood ins.

They were saying that the damage was caused by storm surge, not the 125 mph winds they experienced.

CNN asked the ins. commisioner how storm surge could remove the roofs off of homes.

Their reply was its a broad and grey area.

So now the feds are suing the ins. co's on the homeowners behalf.

Its Hurricane Andrew all over again ! :-5 :-5 :-5

They tried the same crap in Fl. then they tried pulling out of the state.

Used car dealers, politicians, ins. co's............................different breed.

Hope they dont cross pollinate.

Wow those are some real down to earth photos. It really makes you realise the awful devastation that Katrina caused, and how long the cleaning up is going to take. Let's hope that we don't have to see scenes like this for a long time to come!!

It's so heartbreaking to look at those photos. I watched the news when they were covering the hurricane and the aftermath. It was sooo sad to see all those people displaced.

As for insurance companies, ughh thieves. I had a friend who had damage done to her property during a severe storm. They wouldn't cover the damage because it was an act of God.

From what I heard right after the hurricane, there was an attorney who was claiming that it was not an act of God, it was the ineptness of the city because the levy broke therefore the insurance should pay. I had heard on the news that he had won several cases.

My aunt lives in Gulfport MS and this is the second major hurricane she has ridden out. She only lives about two miles inland and didn't have much damage. I was concerned about the lighthouse there in Biloxi. We used to go to Gulfport every summer and I always loved the lighthouse. She said it was in perfect shape not even a window blown out. The news said it was probably because of it's shape, round.

Maybe we should all live in round houses? Hmmmmm. . . . .
