Sounds like pretty cheap insurance, with extra bells & whistles. It'll be years before I buy my next vehicle, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for that.

Engine and/or Transmission System

Diagnostic: Complete. No action needed.

More Information

Does this specify trouble areas ?

For instance if I had a faulty O2 sensor would that be identified or is it more general than that ?

Do you need to purchase the equiptment or are there rental fees involved ?

Thanks OnStar...........

Clipper wrote: The diagnostic covers anything/everything of engine/transmission/electrical/cooling system just as the Tech at the Dealership would run if the vehicle were right there....

No rental fees for any of the equipment installed on the vehicle.

Extra kicker....I got a 50% reduction in my Theft Insurance because of OnStar.....:D

Huh...thats very cool. peace of mind. Does the dealer accept that transmission ? It cuts them out of the diagnostic fees. Or is Onstar GM related ?

The only thing that troubles me is the tracking aspect. Great if your car is stolen but it rings too close to big bro.

Clipper, I am glad you enjoy your OnStar feature, but I gotta say....there is no way in HELL I would ever own a vehicle with OnStar. Like was mentioned: "Big brother." Just one more way for them to keep tabs on us. No thanks. :yh_bigsmi

And the federal "Goobermint" (I love that word) can make anything appear the way they wish. Many call me paranoid, and maybe I am. I still don't trust 'em as far as I can spit.
