Well here I am... back in beautiful Virginia. It is beautiful and rural. I knew when I came back here that social life would be pretty non existant. The other night I decided to explore the possibilities on Match .com. Cant believe Im doing this. I found three men. We wrote back and forth. They were very, very nice. I privately e mailed them my photo as I will not put it up for my entire town to see. PS.. have not had a reply from any of them!! Oh my God! I am so humiliated. Did they get the photos? Did they run, screaming from the room, when they saw them? Am I just not their type? They could have politely let me know.. they werent interested. Now I want to go run my errands today with a black bag over my head. Arent I cute anymore?

Weeder, you wrote that so humorously..I'm laughing out loud both at the way you wrote it and because I can relate to it 100% I suggested to no1b that I purchase a balaclava but a bag sounds lighter and perhaps more effective. Would you let me know which type of bag you choose because I can then get one for myself ...black is certainly good because I do tend to wear black quite a lot and I shall be colour, or black, co-ordinated.

Will that make us "bag ladies?"

We might well find ourselves starting a new trend. We may become famous and rich, and men from all over the world will be begging us for a moment of our time.

3 men is an infinitesimally small number. Get yourself out there. Many many men will find you to be exactly to their liking. Just as you yourself walk down the street, how many of the men you pass do you find attractive ? 1 in 10 ? Maybe less maybe more. Make sense ?

No no Theia... its Ok. I wanted it to sound funny. This is the problem. When I was young... everyone said I looked like Natalie Wood. Nice choice for back then. Unfortunately shes dead..... In my forties they thought I was a dead ringer for Susan Sarandon. Nice choice. Right? But if you mention her name to any one half alive now days... They dont know who the hell your talking about. Looks go in and out of vogue... I dont think my look is popular any more. I have curly hair. The creep I wrote you about would tell me it was " Course" The word course would run through my head all day. Like a bad song.

I would be afraid that his hand would brush across my hair. The damage one word can do. So now Im thinking these guys saw my " Coarse" hair. Not my curly hair. OF COARSE.........................THEIR NOT GOING TO LIKE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way... The bag is a 55 gallon 8mm contractors black bag. You can wrap it on your head... if the man thinks your not thin enough... you can cut arm holes and wear it as a black dress with a hood. Add a belt and big earrings to jazz it up for those nights on the town.

Nomad.... Your right... out of 500 men... one appeals to me. The nerve of me! Im very picky. And here I am wondering.....

I have to go now.. I have a date for breakfast. I picked up the manager of a local supermarket on my way home last night. I was over charged for my chicken. He was giving me a refund... I told him " You have the kindest brown eyes....

You are BRILLIANT Weeder...you have made me start laughing all over again.

I have curly hair too. No1b insisted on trying to "do" something with it to make me more acceptable...it should have been blonde, my fringe (bangs? US?) was wrong and so was the style. He also thought people probably whispered behind my back about the way I dress...so that bag sounds wonderful. Hey, Weeder, if I ever come over to America again, perhaps we can meet up, wearing our respective bags? Then we can paint the town and knock 'em dead...

Watch those brown eyes.....

Yes, Nomad, I think "friend" is stretching it a bit although I hope you realise he was being cruel to be kind and that it was all for my own good?

But watch this space, dear, dear Nomad, and wait til the phoenix arises...as she will

Weeder, you're not only "cute", you're beautiful inside as well! ok, here is only my opinion for what it's worth, and i know there are exceptions to what i am about to say. i think 95% of the men who are advertising in the personals are players. period. trolling for fantasy creatures, getting notches in their belts. you cannot beat the chemistry that may occur between two people who meet and lock eyes while getting :yh_chickn refunds...we all know that in-your-gut chemistry, it does not happen online. you may certainly like someone you meet online, or at least like what they tell you. but the personals are for the most part a game. IMO.

I really believe that, these men you meet look at them as friends and if you wouldnt entertain them as a friend then they are no go as a boyfriend..

and have faith there are alot of them out there...

you just get to test drive a few, now thats got to be fun huh!!!!:sneaky:

I think your all correct about the online personals. I think the women are more serious than the men. The men it seems are troll fishing.. like they are trying to come up with Brittany Spears or some little chick a dee they dont see in their neighborhoo supermarkets. I did it out of boredom. In a way it reminds me of going to an arcade....... with all those DUCKS passing in front of your eyes.

THEIA..... I am so so glad Ive got you laughing. It is the best medicine you know. You can come here to visit me here any time. Ill invite my adorable, smart, independant, loving, generous southern belle best friend from Georgia (WHO CANT FIND A MAN EITHER) and we can all go out and black bag it together!!!!!

But then as I told a friend from the forum last year... Id like to come there also. And Id really appreciate it if one of my english friends could round up Robert Carlyle for me. Odd choice huh? Not what you would expect me to want? I think he is absolutely adorable!

As you all must know by now.... I am back from the BIG BREAKFAST DATE. The big brown eyes were just about it. This man has every problem known to mankind. I wish him all the luck in the world.. However, I would rather have needles stabbed in my eyes.. than to spend an evening with him. I would rather straddle hot coals than to call him mine. I would rather.... oh heck! You get the picture. I like to think of myself as compassionate... but we have an expression here regarding a place that people who screw up majorly often visit.. Its called on the 'balls of your ass"

I have no desire to accompany anyone there. When I have money again.. someday.... Im headed for the south of France, Thank You.

Most often they go there alone.

I cant pull myself together. I am over the edge. Yearning for men I dont even know... caught up in the fantasy of believing a few good men do exist, but they are floating around ... somewhere in cyber space... And if I did fall in love with one... on the web... you can bet hed be bagged, sagged? and tagged... like flop said. Oh, Floppy and Theia.. such wrath does appear when one has been scorned... or taken to breakfast with a man who truly is.. " On the balls of his ass"

All hope simply goes out the window. And so, what is there to do.. but to come here.. Where one can choose to go to a thread to feel loved. Go to a thread where there is laughter.... Search for a thread where there might be lust...or a boob or two floating around......................Hahahahah Manically laughing.

He said that if the guys on the dating thing see any one who might require some effort to have.... they just click them off. I guess that means theyre looking for bimbos ( hate that word too) But anyway... my self esteem is restored. Nice ego booster. I guess Ill have to start hanging out in places where the age range is 20 to 28. Anyway Ill click the quit button on match.com today. And I can go to work without the black bag.

Still I Rise

by Maya Angelou

You may write me down in history

With your bitter, twisted lies,

You may trod me in the very dirt

But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?

Why are you beset with gloom?

’Cause I walk like I've got oil wells

Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,

With the certainty of tides,

Just like hopes springing high,

Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?

Bowed head and lowered eyes?

Shoulders falling down like teardrops,

Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you?

Don't you take it awful hard

’Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines

Diggin’ in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,

You may cut me with your eyes,

You may kill me with your hatefulness,

But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?

Does it come as a surprise

That I dance like I've got diamonds

At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame

I rise

Up from a past that’s rooted in pain

I rise

I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,

Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear

I rise

Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear

I rise

Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,

I am the dream and the hope of the slave.

I rise

I rise

I rise.
