I had a swarm of bees come yesterday and they are still hanging around my eaves. It's not a problem for the moment except I won't let the kids play outside right now. They don't seem aggresive. My hubby is a pest sprayer, but he's not sure about doing it himself. He doesn't have the smoker.

Anyway, it was a neat thing for the kids to see. Maybe they were congratulating my son for doing so well at the spelling bee..... :-3 :p

perhaps your husband could collect a few in a jar to determine if they are africanized (killer) bees.

What? and have them DNA tested? They can't stay in any case, but he's out of town for a few days.

it doesn't need to be DNA tested. it can be done visually/microscopically. is there a local agricultural college or agency that could ID them? animal control would be a good call also.
