Nobody DARES knock on my door unless they have called me and I have given them the OK to stop by. That is the rudest thing in the world, in my book, to drop in on someone unannounced. I wouldn't drop in on my own sister without calling first.

Hmmmm. NO! I hate to say it but I am not fond of company. I have kids though, and my son likes to have his friends over.
Just today one of those little boys from upstairs opened my front door and started to walk right in!!!!! I guess Quinten and "Come in" sound kind of the same.

when unexpected people knock at my door, i simply won't answer. like BR, i think it's the height of inconsideration. especially when on night shift and sleeping in the daytime. i have a 'welcome' mat at the door...it says "NOT WITHOUT A WARRANT".

Depends on who it is. Majority of the visitors to my house are family. No one knocks just walks in yelling "anybody home". This can be a good thing if I'm in back of the house.
If I don't want company I just shut and lock the front door.

The last time my sis brought the kids over my 2 yr old nephew was playing with my stereo.

LOL chill boy chill!;)
If that had been my child, he would have been pulled away and told no, it's not a toy, children have to learn respect for other peoples belongings.
When other children visit me if they are doing something I don't allow my children to do then I will tell them off. The looks I get from some Mums is amusing, but as far as I'm concerned they are in my house and they live by my rules!
I don't mind anyone popping in for a coffee but I'd want notice of anyone dropping by for a meal or to stay.

ahahaha well given you just finished with a house ful I can understand that ahahaha. I have to say I dont' like anyone except maybe the beau and my own kids dropping in on me. Kids more so as I don't feel to badly about the bits of fluff that collects round the corners so much when the kids appear but with the beau they seem the size of small pets ahahahaha

Only people that come around here are the ever-growing number of people trying to sell stuff to us. They are sooooooo annoying. Especially trying to run to get to the door, only to find out that it is one of them at the door. :-5

Weekends are a flat out madhouse around heah. The Roosters always have buddies sleeping over on Fri/Sat nights; friends always drop in for coffee and breakfast; and family members hang out here a lot coming and going all weekend long.
Me and Momma cook up a storm and just enjoy the heck outta having folks come and go.....it all adds up to great memories and keeps our friendship ties with all real strong and healthy....
And just for good measure there's nearly always a SP cruiser parked behind the barn and a worthy Trooper is chowing down in the kitchen.....
used to be that way at my house back in the day, but I love my solitude now ... sigh....

Actually the worst are the ones who just don't take no for an answer, they keep yapping on and on about how you won't get a better deal elsewhere. Most times they can expect a nice friendly door in the face for their troubles hehehe.
