I got an email from my father's sister in California!!! I haven't seen or spoken with her in, let's see... has to be over 20 years!!! WOW!! She sent me some pictures of my cousin too. I hadn't seen him since he was a little boy. I'm so excited! I can't wait to hear from her again.

The only down side was she apparently didn't hear about my mom passing away & asked me how she's doing.

I'd love to go visit her! She's coming to PA in a couple of weeks. I really hope we can get together! :-6

Sounds like you're excited about seeing your aunt. I'm happy for you! Did she say why it's taken that many years to make contact with you?

No, she's my father's sister. My parents have been divorced for many years.

We hadn't kept in touch with my father's side of the family. They're not close-knit at all. But I happened upon some relatives on the internet, of all places! And one thing led to another! I remember her coming to visit us & going to visit her, when I was a little girl. Then she & her family moved to CA. She got divorced & raised her son out there.

Well, my aunt & I have been emailing back & forth for the past couple of days. She's coming to visit me in early April! And she said I could come out to California to visit her too!!! I am sooooo excited!!!

Well, my aunt is coming this weekend! I can't wait!! I'm having her over for dinner on Friday evening & we're spending time alone together. Then we'll meet with my brother & sister on Sunday. Wish us luck!

My aunt & her boyfriend came over on Friday night for dinner. I pulled some old pictures out, that we had gotten at my grandmother's funeral, from my one uncle. She was soooo surprised! And she explained who the people were & told some stories. We had a very good time.

Then, we all got together on Sunday & had kind of a picnic with all of my immediate family. I had such a good time! She left on Monday to go back to California. I'm really glad I got to see her. She hasn't changed much... but I think she looks more like my grandmother now. :-6
