LC started a thread on sounds that take you back. However I'm the type of person where songs take me back. So what songs take you back.
Me...
Whenever I hear certain songs from the 90's takes me back to highschool. Seal's Kiss from a Rose will always remind me of my first date with my husband.
Patsy Cline and Conway Twitty songs remind me of my grandmother, she always was listening to the the golden oldies.

the songs that move me the most are from my parents' generation, the 40's. 'sentimental journey' for example. and the last dance i had under the moonlight was 'it had to be you'. another 40's song. it was pure romance. if i live to be 99 i will never forget that moment. i grew up in oldtime rock and roll days. but it's funny, only the classics stay with me. :yh_flower :yh_flower :yh_flower

A stong that takes me back to school dances at the War Memorial Building downtown San Diego is "GOOD NIGHT SWEETHEART" Can't remember the name of the group that sang back in the 60's "Good night sweetheart it is time to go" :-4

Anything from the early 70's. Yesterday while I was driving in my car a song came on by I think it was the Temptations. That one that goes "What you see is what you get". Also that one that goes "I've got a brand new pair of rollerskates, you got a brand new key. I think that we should get together and try them out to see". And that other one about "smiling faces".

"Downtown" by Petula Clark was the first song I ever remember. I think this was when I was 4 and I used to get up just before 7 a.m. as they used to play it every morning on the radio at 7. Around the same time I recall "I wanna hold your hand" by The Beatles. Those 2 songs always remind me of the house we lived in and sitting in front of the fire with my mom listening to the radio.
"Yesterday Once more" by the Carpenters, "First Cut is the Deepest" by Rod Stewart and "Will You" by Hazel O'Connor amongst others, always remind me of old girlfriends

When I was in high school we listened to Skid Row and Warrant...but my fondest songs were George Jones(watching my mom iron and sing to then) and then there was one my dad had an 8 track to -the song was called Teddy Bear..about a little boy--it was a trucker song..and I think on that same 8 track was a sad song about Rosa' a lil girl that had gotten struck by a train..I remember my mom getting all teary eyed when dad brought that 8 track home....:-1 I don't know who sang them though??:-3
