My past few threads have been thrown into the netherland ....................deleted. So it is my thought is is not OK to disagree anymore. I was wrong in calling people out specifically............they were wrong too. So I want to know who rules this forum.............the old timers or all the other people who actually put their money into FG support long before the old timers did? You should have supported us. BTW - do we get a rebate on our money?

Hey NV I don't think anyone but admin rules the forum. welllll they make the rules and we all do our best to follow them how is that.
As for money back I think you would have to ask Tombstone or Anastrophe. sorry no help there huh

So I want to know who rules this forum
I will be the one person to actually admit that I have often wondered this myself. Seems some can express any opinion, rudely as possible; others cannot. Some can harrass, others cannot defend. Just my opinion.

Well, it seems to ME, that admin runs the forum they own as they see fit. Judgement calls that some don't like, and rules that some are incapable of following.
I know some of you, in your peace-keeping ways have tried to divert the thread to a lighter note, but I feel like this is something that needs to be said. We've seen Tombstone and anastrophe called to the mat for their decisions countless times. To those people I say, if this isn't the kind of forum for you, where decisions are made without consulting the general population, then go make your own forum, or join another. Neither of the owners are stupid people, and they make the decisions as they see fit which is their right as owners. The public whining about alleged hurts is boring. If you have a problem with someone, take it up with admin. If you have a problem with the way things are run, take it up with admin. They actually listen and consider input. I know, I've written to them several times about many things. Some they've accepted others they haven't. All you can do is make the effort. Instead of complaining, DO something about it. If the answer is no, well then, move on, live with it. We're supposed to be adults here, and this griping and subtle "I'm pissed and want to throw a tantrum" is ridiculous.

I have no idea what this is about, but let me tell you running a forum is not always fun and games. Sometimes it's akin to babysitting hundreds of behaviourally challenged children all at once. :wah:
At my forum, just about every decision to change the place goes to a vote of the members, the place is really run by the members not the Admins or Moderators but we still get a little bit of drama every now and then.
You will never win them all just like an Admin will never please all of the people all of the time.
Wherever you have humans, even humans you can't see and only know through their typing, you will have emotion, and with that comes drama sometimes. You just gotta decide whether the good outweighs the bad, and if it doesn't move on.

I absolutely, 100% agree with you, Bez. I didn't say that it was a bad thing at all. But sometimes you also need people to say, "Look, this is just dumb, deal with it."
Both are important, and being the one who doesn't pull punches, I felt a need to say what I said.
I fully appreciate the ones here who have the ability to keep the peace. Don't think it's a bad thing at all.

Spoken like royalty, BR. It's nice to be on the positive end of it all. But it is frustrating when somebody gets banned for nothing more than pissing you off.

Well bannment is in the hands of our admin and I guess if we have any troubles with that it's best to contact admin.
FG is no different than any other social group, there is never going to be complete harmony and similar mind sets. We have to all accept the differences of thinking and opinions and if Admin makes a decision someone sees as bad, then they are who anyone should go to and plead their case to. I "think" admin is pretty liberal with how the manage FG, and really on a whole over all the Forum is run well. Sure there is a little "self governing" going on, and if it gets to be over the top, our admin isn't afraid to step in.

Well, I'd rather not. Anastrophe has deleted any references I might make, as I'm sure he would this thread, should it get too heated.
I'll just wait and point it out if I see again, okay?

online it's easy to be anything, you can be respectful, disrespectful, deceitful, hurtful, joyful etc and no one has to know the real you. I think a thicker skin, the ability to let things roll ofg your back, a sense of humor and just a general whatever attitude is needed online because things can be easily misread, or misinterpreted. Geeze if I cowered from all the nasty PM's I get I would be crying my way to the looney bin.

In my experience here so far the ones who have been banned were provoked.
Had they not been provoked, they'd still be here.
kmhowe72. Is a prime example... yes she broke the forum rules and got banned for it... but in my opinion she was picked on till she lashed out in the only way she could have. Since then Ive seen it happen to others.
I've changed how I post because of it. And whenever I see someone getting picked on that doesnt deserve it.. I try to PM them and make them aware of how things work.Nicely put. Mind if I join the patrol?

I've been here less than nine months and so I would ask the longstanding FG people...has the bickering and banning etc. worsened since the early days or is it just a cyclical thing? If it has increased, why do you think it has? If it hasn't, tee hee, it'll soon be over

Oh IMHO it has increased but so has our numbers of members. You know we really have not had that many bannings when you consider how large we are, and how we have had some controversial folks come and go. It isn't a cycle I don't think, I think at first when a group starts up everyone is all polite and trying to establish a kind of "order" then once we get comfortable we step out and test the waters and that is when controversy is going to show up, after that it is all about how it is handled, you can either be a **** stirrer and get others ticked off at you and let it go, or you can be a **** stirrer once in a while and know when to stop and let it go, you can be a shrinking violet and let everything hurt you, or you can be a duck and let it roll off your back. With a place full of all different personalities we have to expect some muck flinging. Again I think as for the banning, Admin has to have their reasons and I just bet, they have a lot more "behind the scenes" information than a lot of us have.
