OK, living in an upper flat with no yard to speak of, Bullet and I have very limited space to plant flowers, and we both love to have really colorful flowers in the yard. We have two of those long decorative boxes that sit on our "patio" plus one large round one and an area of soil about 1 1/2 feet wide by maybe 4 feet long.

Talk about limited space!! I love allysum, but what else can you pros out there recommend to put in this tiny space that will look pretty?

Pansies come in lots of different colors, yes?

Containers yes yes.I live in a london town house so limited space but i have to have my Bay trees out side the porch also i grow strawberrys and toms on my kitchen window sill and ive planted a small apple tree in a semi large pot/container outside my garage doors and pots along a wall .

I found this site on container gardening. It lists some annuals that would be great for containers. I've also had great success with moss rose. It's pretty hardy, even if you forget to water it. It will also seed, so you can reuse the seeds next year.

there is only one choice for an area like this. WAVE PETUNIAS...you WON'T be sorry. they are the MOST bang for your buck. they will look amazing!

Pansies are so cheerful and last ages if you deadhead them often,

i potted some for my mum for her patio in Oct and they're still blooming.

Flowering Geraniums pot well and have a sweet scent to them. :yh_flower

Also if you have another sq. foot somewhere... you could do strawberries this way... looks cools, tastes great, little space.. what MORE could you want?

Geraniums are pretty showy and are forgiving if you forget to water them

Fuchsias are great also and you can get hardy ones too.

Petunias and pansies have been mentioned and are good standbys.

Busy lizzies are great but don't like it too dry.



Strawberries in tubs...wonderful idea and also cherry tomatoes in hanging baskets (deep ones)

I went with Zinnias and two kinds of Marigolds, one is Lemon Drop. The gate has Morning Glories. The plan is to have blue on the fence and gate with a red crepe myrtle in front of the blue. Time will tell.
